Question about 2000 Chevrolet Silverado
The key fab may need a new battery.If you pop the cover open a very common issue is the battery contact points solder breaks.You can try to resolder if this is the problem.Another suggestion while you have it apart is to clean it.Typically when cleaning these I use a 91 percent rubbing alcohol and a q-tip.Remove the circuit board from the case with battery out you will see the rubber buttons.Gently wipe them out with an alcohol q-tip and on the board itself clean the contact points where the buttons meet the circuit board.If this does not work the fab may need to replaced.
