do u have an AC system evacuation pump?

  • n1jmfn Jun 04, 2010

Yeah, i've already changed my accumulator which didn't fix the problem I was having. So my next step is changing the orifice tube, I just don't know where it is. I took it to AAA and they told me to change the orifice tube they would have to change my whole system. Any help would be awesome.

Is it located where the low pressure port is? Like where it actually connects to the accumulator?

A FIXED ORIFICE IS JUST THAT FIXED, NO MOVING PARTS, THE ONLY THING THAT HAPPENS IS THEY GET PLUGGED WITH COMPRESSOR DEBRIS FROM A FAILED AC COMPRESSOR PISTON, DOES THE COMPRESSOR TURN ON?

Remove the quick connect,or the coupling nut where the orifice tube is at,and use needle nose pliers,to grab and pull the tube out, then install the orifice tube the same way .

There are two lines, coming out of the firewall, one goes to the dryer accumalator, and the other one goes to the condenser, the line going to the condenser has the orifice tube in it,it will have a coupling there and look at it close, and you will see it is swelled a bit where the orifice tube goes.

Can the orifice tube on a 2002 mustang be repaired with kit

You do not cut & splice into any A/C System

You replace with the oe type parts only when
they fail/leak

The orifice is a screen inside the hose connection
& can be cleaned, not necessary to always replace
