Try replacing the coolant sensor.

What stops a fuel pump from working ,on a grand am se v-p6 3.4 motor ? I did'nt let it warm up the other mournin g , got down the road and it shut off driving.


A fuel pump does not need to be warmed up to work. They just wear out. If its the fuel pump that's the problem it will have to be replaced.

Engine dies


if it shuts off while driving down the road. and restarts after 10 minutes, its usually a bad crank sensor that does this. it messes up timing and shuts off fuel supply.

As you have probably figured out by now, you will have to treat it as a no start and troubleshoot it when it fails to start. Until you figure out if you are loosing spark or fuel to the injectors when the engine dies you have no direction to go in.

96 Dodge Runs fine but after warms up it dies,cools n will crank n run good then dies again after warming up.


Hey Dennis,, DON"T BECOME A PARTS REPLACER..(some people who "call themselves mechanic's" are just that!),.. .take this Dodge to a qualified professional... talk to them..
You say warm... do you mean full running temp?? .if so, you may be experiencing a vapor lock,, fuel "boils" when the engine is hot.. when it cools its no longer hot enough to cause this..(S.W.A.G.)

I have a vw bora 2002 petrol ... my car just dies while am driving it. and when i try to start it again it wont . but if i wait for 10 mins the car would start again but dies back again after a while. it...


This looks very like either the crank sensor or cam sensor is faulty. The are OK when cold but as they warm up everything expands just that little bit and if there is a break in the wiring inside them then a gap opens up and it dies. When it cools down things contract back again the gap closes the break reconnects and it works again. If it is possible put straightened out paper clips (called 'back probing') into the back of the wires at the sockets to these devices and then use a voltmeter to detect the voltages on them. Check when cold and then every few minutes as the engine warms at idle. One of the sensors will begin to reduce voltage as it gets warm, this is the faulty one that needs changing.

upper 02 sensor run on a loop till the engine gets warm then it reads the sensor get you back on the road fast it will work better if the engine is warm when you take out the o2 sensor

unplug the cam sensor behind the water pump pulley; see if it starts; if it does, shut off engine; replace both cam and crank sensors because crank sensors go out in these engines

2000 chevy malibu engine dying when your driving. It will start right back up. I just replaced the fuel pump. All the gauges turn off and then go back up when it dies


if crank or cam sensor is bad, it will shut down car when warm. have car scanned to see if this is your problem. if you do not have a scanner, most autopart stores will scan it for free.
