See if it is a float in the reservoir ,and push it down, and let it come back up,some times a piece of trash can cause the float not float up all the way.

I have a 2002 pontiac grand prix. my e-brake light will stay on when the e-brake is not on.

Check your brake fluid level. Low fluid levels will cause the brake light to come on. If the fluid is not low, there could be a problem with the emergency brake light switch or the brake fluid level sensor.

Just had Malfunction Lamp Indicator and TCS Alarm ON on my 2001 Odyssey. Idling is rough with the AC ON but gets ok when the AC is OFF. What seems to be the problem? Thanks.

Thats the Traction Control System...indicating one wheel is spinning at a different speed than another.

It just so happens that the ABS Braking System ties into this as well.

I'd check the brake fluid level first...then the fluid level switch (some are in the cap and some are in the brake master cylinder.)

Hope this helps...

Mitsubishi montero limited and the ABS light and brake light is on and has a buzzer/alarm on always. To brake the car you really have to press hard on the brakes. Please what are the possible solutions.

Immediately check your brake fluid level. If its low, you may have a leak within the brake system. This also allows air to enter the brake lines causing insufficient braking power. If levels are ok, have the ABS actuator checked for proper function. Have it diagnosed immediately, as this may cause a major accident.

The brake alarm just came on unexpexted on my acura MDX

Check brake fluid level and have a look at the brake pads, make sure they aren't worn down and check security/condition of the wires from the pads. I assume you don't mean handbrake on indicator.

Brake light staying on. on my 2001 ford windstar what might it be

check your master cylinderr fluid level. If full brakes may be worn badly or master cyoinder may be going bad.. if brakes are ok change brake sending unit usually located on master cylinder. do noty drive until you are positive your brakes are good. if fluid level is low in master look for brake fluid under car usually on back of wheel.if no brake fluid on back of wheel inspect brake lines for a hole usually rusted through. if this is helpful please leave me positive feedback.

My brake light is on and it keeps ding ding dinging and its very anoying because the E-brake is off. my problem is i lost the cover for my fuse box under the dash, so i dont know what one to pull to stop...

First, do not attempt to bypass a safety related issue by pulling a fuse. The brake light and alarm signal is performing it's designed function by indicating a fault that needs to be corrected.

Check the brake system completely. The Brake fluid level sensor could be low. Now rather than just add fluid, keep in mind that the level may be low because the brakes are worn. Worn pads & shoes cause the calipers to extend which requires additional fluid, causing a "low" fluid level.

Also check to ensure the ABS sensors are OK.

Parking brake light stays on

Hello. Assuming that you do not have an issue with the switch on the park brake, the most common reason for this is low brake fluid in the brake master cylinder reservoir. This should not alarm you, however. Toyot has implemented a sensor that measures the fluid level in the reservoir; and, as the brakes normally wear, the fluid level drops proportionally.

I would suggest that you get the front brakes checked, it may be time for replacement.

...Don't add fluid just to turn off the light... when the brakes are replaced, the fluid level will raise, and any additional fluid will be forced out, and the fluid will damage the paint under the cylinder.

Thanks for using FixYa!

Brake light on dash stays on but sometimes goes off when cornering. Whats wrong

Check your brake fluid level. If the level is low, it will cause this. Also- if the level is significantly low, have your brakes checked, or check them yourself. When brake pads or shoes wear down, the level of fluid in the reservoir will drop accordingly with it.

Brake peddle goes down all the way at stop lights

Don't drive the vehicle again until this brake problem is solved.

Check brake fluid level is ok.
If level is low look for fluid leaks on the brake system.
The master cylinder may have failed.
Have the brake system checked by a mechanic.
