Question about 1995 Chevrolet K1500

1 Answer

1995 Z-71 5.7, clicks when I try to start. Battery, starter and starter solenoid checked out OK at Advance Auto. Cleaned grounds on block and battery and cleaned positive wire at battery and starter. It did this once before and started on second try then did fine for about a week.

If the truck turnes-over, it might not be electrical. if it becomes more frequent, it might be the fuel pump. might want to take a look at that.

I am having a problem with my daughters 1998 subaru forester. sometimes it will start and sometimes it will turn over slow or just click.i checked the battery with a volt meter and got 12.4 volts ,it

It sounds to me like you have a dead cell in your battery it can have 12 volts and not enough cranking amps, my shop has a tester that can tell you exactly what's wrong with it without removing it, however if you take the battery out and take it to autozone or advance they can test it for you.

My acura cl 3.0 1998 wont start change the battery hear clicking noise in starter but just replaced it back in may pf this year.

The clicking noise is the starter relay, which sends power to the starter. sometimes the relay is mounted on the starter, sometimes on the fender. I would say the starter is bad and needs replaced. Sometimes you can get a bad starter from the factory. Just because its not that old, or even brand new, doesn't mean that its a good working starter. Replace that starter.

03 for explorer not starting turn the key have full power hear klicks from distribution block but no crank

The starter solenoid is mounted on the starter. Clicking from the distribution block must be the starter relay. Swap in another relay from the block into that socket to see if the relay is the problem.

Try removing the ignition module, usually located right under the coil pack, and having it tested at Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts.

I over turned the steering on my ford 350 econoline van and it stalled and now it dosen't start,Alternater light goes on when turn egnition key on.I cleaned battery posts solenoid posts ground cable to...

Does the starter solenoid at least click?
If not, then solenoid is the problem.
If it does click, then could be starter, low battery, or something else we would walk through.
Ford usually has a round starter solenoid on the fender near the starter, but not part of it.
Fords also sometimes need to have the engine turned a bit by hand, to get it past a spot where the bendix binds.

I turn the key and just get a click, i have tested the starter motor and it is ok

If the starter is good and you can hear the click from the solenoid but the starter doesn't spin, it can only be three things: A bad battery, a bad cable going to the starter(the big one), or a bad starter ground, which is the ground for the whole block. You can get the battery checked at any auto store, and the ground problem is very uncommon. So if it is not the battery than you need a new starter cable.

The car has power but the starter Solenoid Switch just clicks

First, make sure the engine is not seized by turning the crank with a 19mm socket and breaker bar. If it turns, then it's either a bad battery or starter. Is the battery more than 4 years old? Replace it. Then try getting under there and giving the starter a whack with a hammer a few times while someone is turning the key. If it starts, replave the starter.
