Question about 1999 Volkswagen Cabrio

1 Answer

I have a 1999 VW Cabrio . I was driving down the road and it just died. Left it there a while and went back and it started right up. Went a few days with no problems at all, then it did it again. Left it there to cool down for a while and went back and it started again. Got about a mile down the road and it died like it did the first time. Don't know if its getting hot or not getting fuel. Any suggestions?????

Couple be a fuel pump overheating, engine over heating, low oil plus a lot of other things need more information. Drive it watch the temp. That would be a good start.

Why does my 93 Honda Accord run fine and then dies going down the road and will start again and die again?

There is a black fuel relay way up under the top left driver side dash that breaks its main wire solder connections on the circuit board under over-heat conditions. Resolder that relay. Starting fluid will show that you have lost fuel delivery under no start conditions. You can use the breather hose from the valve cover for this test.

99 VW not starting

You need to check the engine all over when the engine over heats it very hard on it and could melt wiring and plastic parts after you check that look at the relays if the fan is out one of the relays may be out and you would need to replace it

When my 1999 Cabrio was new the cruise control went out. It took the dealership and along with a VW expert 10 days to find a pinched harness assembly under the battery box.
