Question about 2003 Saab 9-3

When idling at a stop light for example my car

Saab 93 se turbo 2002 when idling the car rpm and turbo fluctuates. After a couple of weeks of trying to find the problem my car won't stay on. When I start the car the Rpms are not sufficient to keep the car running unless I hold down on the gas. Now the engine light is on

Sounds like you might have a problem with your throttle body. mine went bad and had similar symptoms. i had to replace.

Look for a test port on the fuel pressure regulator. It will look similar to the valve stem on your wheel where you add air to the tire. Connect a test gauge there..

The only thing I can this is a vacuum leak, either a hose or egr valve.

I have a 2000 Saab 9-3 SE with 147k miles, I drove it to the store with no issues. When I came out of the store and drove it about a mile everything was fine, then all of a sudden the car "bucked" and the...


if the engine is still running without noises , stop worrying
the turbo could have died in which case have it replaced
yes the fault codes may reveal the area of the fault but if it is a mechanical failure , it may not show up
engine lights report on engine AND transmission faults so the indicated problem may be electronic related to the transmission controls

YOUR PROBLEM COULD BE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER LEAKING OR THE NON RETURN VALVE. IDLE SPEED LOW.HAVE IDLE SPEED ADJUSTED.IT SHOULD BE 875 RPM.

Service engine soon light


if certain that car has no sensor then carry on with self preservation (plus,leads,filter and such) as the warning light does come on sometimes to tell you to service/ take to a garage to service.

Engine check lite saab 93 2.0l non turbo yr 2000


You will need to change the o2 sensors, your car is running in limp mode (giving to much gas)
Most common problem if you need additional help
