Question about 1985 Ford Crown Victoria
Inside the idler pulley mount you will note a square hole that is for using a socket breaker bar to move the tensioner. (I don't remember if the retangular hole is 3/8 or 1/2 inch but one of the two) Insert the breaker bar de-tension the belt and route it. You can use a ratchet but a breaker bar will not slip and is safer to use.
