SOURCE: how to change the transmission fulid on a suzuki forenza

there is no dip stic on the forenza no need to go to the dealer and pay for it simply jack the entire car off the ground enough to get yourself under it make sure u support it with appropriate stands. you can check the fluid by removing the plug from the side of the trans u will need a special tool for this u can get from an auto parts store after removing the plug check to make sure the fluid is right to the brim of the plug hole then turn the car on and shift through the gears R,D,1,2,4 and then back again hold in each gear for about 5 sec then turn the car off crawl back under and check again . if low add a little at a time until its filled u can get a small hand pump with a tube on it from auto store u put this in a quart of trans fluid makes the job alot easier . as for the other problem it is you Trans range sensor $65 dollars from the dealer or $45 from OEMsuzukiparts.com not very hard to change Hope this helps

SOURCE: 2005 Suzuki Forenza timing belt breakage

hi im not sure on this particular model but there a few easy ways to check.... take the spark plugs out, remove the broken belt, shine a light down the holes and look for dammdge, if you cant see anything you can turn the crank but it is a tricky job because you can ruin the engine so if your unsure get a mechanic to do it.. or your other alternative is to remove the head and have a look but you will need a new head gasket kit, timing belt and tensioner kit etc .. it is important that you do not turn the engine over when the belt is disconected in any way UNTIL you know for sure that valves wont hit pistons, even bending a valve will not be very noticable but when its all back together you will deffinately notice and will have to pull it all back apart

How many miles can you can run with the oil transmission?

I couldn't find the manual for the 2005, the 2006 says the automatic transmission should be inspected every 24,000 km (15,000 mi) and changed every 60,000 km (37,500 mi).
The manual transmission should be inspected every 48,000 km (30,000 mi) and has no recommended change within 180,000 km (112,500 mi) where the maintenance schedule ends.

Here is the owners manual for the 2006, the maintenance schedule is section 6 almost the very end.

Where is the Transmission plug to check the fluid. Just Purchased 2005 Suzuki Forenza and car has 136,000 miles having problems with shifting. It is hesiating.

It should be on the side of the transmission if it has a plug. You would have to get to it underneathe the car.

How many miles on transmission before having to change the oil?

That all depends on how you drive it. If you beat the car and you do not maintain it, chances are it will fail very early in its service life. If you drive conservatively and have the transmission serviced at frequent intervals it will last the life of the car.

I have a bronco with 268,000 miles on it, yes 268,000 miles on a ford. It doesn't burn a drop of oil and the tranny is original. Everything works great, but I was religious about changing the oil every three thousand miles and making sure the tranny was serviced.

In contrast my wife owned a 98 Hyundai (before I met her) she never changed the oil and drove like a lunatic, the tranny went at 116,000 miles and it burned oil like it was going out of style. go figure.

Can i drain the transmission fluid on a 05 suzuki forenza my self?

yes. HOWEVER, whe you refill it. make sure that you put in the correct type of oil. refer to your owner manual prior to putting in any old automatice trranny fluid as some tranny's require a sopecial type of oil, put in the wrong one and you fry your transmission. If its a standard, put in the correct weight of gear oil. Not trying to scare you, but i want to make sure that your REFER TO YOUR OWNERS MANUAL for the correct type of oil to put in after you drain it.

good luck.
