Question about Chevrolet Astro

Driver Window doesn't work as the gear from the window crank, does not stay in contact with the gear on the Window Glass holder. How do I keep these two in contact so the window will raise and lower properly?

The only way to fix this is to replace the part called the window regulator, that is what contains these parts, they are not repaired they are replaced.

I have a 2003 dodge neon..and the rear defroster doesn't work..it has a button for it..and it just shuts off and back windshield doesn't clear at all...even if I keep turning it back on it...

Yeah, I'd think it would have lines, too, unless some new way of doing it that I'm not aware of. Maybe the rear window was replaced with a window without the defrost option. There should be a small two wire connector coming out of the back shelf near lower driver's side of rear window. That would be the defrost connector to the window lines (that aren't there, lol).
Well, good luck with that! I think there are aftermarket kits for rear window defrost, though.

I have a toyota camry 1990. The driver window only goes down. I was able to bring it up while holding the switch and pressing the widow up. Now that doesn't work. Should I replace the switch or the...

the weight of the glass brings the window down easily of course when the motors brushes are very worn. Going up is a different story from the weight so replace the motor only since the switch works making contact to both modes

Driver's side window inoperable(doesn't go up or down, though it does sound as though a motor does run. Window marginally moves. I have had to manually pull the window up to close.

hello first of all

Well there are only two things that can cause this one is the regulator gears are stripped thats the gear that the motor turns to lift and lower window. Or at the bottom of the glass window when you remove the door panel there is a little plastic tab that goes thru a drilled hole in the glass that may be broken to it common for the plastic to become brittle and break.

Repair driver side window Window will not roll up all the way.

Most likely you have some teeth stripped off on the regulator and the crank or lift motor has nothing to work with when it gets to that point. Get a new regulator off ebay for less than a hundred bucks, keep away from a dealer, then take your regulator to a glass shop, again keep away from a dealer on this, which does car glass and pay them about $50 to replace the regulator for you.

you must pull door panel off (you can find the tool at any parts deals) then lift the window up with hands only it is hard but can be done get some one to hold the window glass up and check to see if any parts have fall if so put back on or replace. if not missing clean track and crank up to glass and line up. wind up and down to make sure it stay and then re-place door panel. hope this works it did for me on my 95 contour

to remove the regulator ("window crank gears") Remove the glass held in with two 10mm bolts. The regulator itself is held in with six 10mm bolts. Remove these bolts and remove the regulator. (installation is reverse). Note: pay attention to the Idler arm track (highlighted in green) I think this one is directional (the front has to be at the front and the back has to be at the rear)

REPLACIND DRIVER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR

Pull out window crank and door handle, remove panel, remove plastic Nylon that's between metal and panel, crank the window down enough to see the arm and the part that connects with glass. Make sure the metal part inside the door that comes from an arm and attaches to glass is clean, from broken glass and the gap that attaches to window is clean, bend the new glass to make it fit inside the opening slide down the new glass from the top using opening guides, grave it from both sides standing in between and make land on top center of the part that graves the glass, put automotive glass silicone on center of that part, just at where graves the glass, let dry, put the plastic back the door panel the window crank with the "U" shaped lock washer and the door handle, I hope I was clear
