Suburban starting problem

Yes when GM installed the anti-theft feature on their line, it caused those similar problems to vehicles that had not been stolen but maybe tampered with the radio. Def sounds like the security feature acting up

Key off and out, oil, park brake and battery lights still on.

It sounds like something is "back feeding" your ignition circuit. In other word there is a source of voltage feed the ignition circuit even with the key off. It could be the ignition switch, but I don't think it's from any road debris. None of that wiring runs under the car. If im working on a vehicle for which I don't have a wiring diagram, I like to narrow these things down by disconnecting electrical components one at a time until the fault goes away. You can pull fuses one at a time, I would start by disconnecting the large gauge wire at the back of the alternator. It is always hot so be careful, if that cures it you need a new alternator. The plug at the ignition switch is pretty hard to get to, but if you were to un plug it and the problem goes get the picture.

Hope this helps, best of luck to you ;)

Security system lock out 2006 DTS

Not to insult your intelligence but is the shifter all the way in park? You may have an issue with linkage too. Or ignition switch needs replacement, (maxima's are also known for ignition replacement)
Other wise disconnect your car battery for ten min, just leave it sit, after ten min put ur battery cable back on, try ur key again.if you have a spare key work with the drivers door a little with locking and unlocking

The car won't start it tries to turn over but thats it it's getting spark and sounds like the fuel pump is kicking in but thats all its doing

I purchased a used 2002 pontiac grand am with only one key (dealer key), so I went and had a couple of keys made without magnetic chip,my bad. the car was running great until I tested the new keys that I had made, not knowing this set off the security lock out. the next day I went out to start the car and would act like it was trying to turnover but I was was doing was running the battery down, after several hours of troubleshooting (thinking fuel pump issue) I had come to learn the when you see the security light blinking on the dash it ain't going to start. How to fix, using a magnetic strip key turn to the on position, remember this model turns lights on also, leave the key in on position for 10 minutes this will reset the alarm, turn the key to the off position, now try to start your car. Key point here is if you see the security icon blinking on your dash the car has power everywhere but will not start, there may be several things that trip the security, I am just learning of one
