Looking at the front of the vehicle it will be on the left hand side up towards the firewall, there should be a black cap that will need to be unscrewed in order to charge the system with freon

Where the orifice tube is located on a 1997 jimmy

Its in the AC line from accumulator to the evaporetor the lower connection .
May not be the problem and can be cleaned if the screen is in tacked .
However you do have to break into the gas system witch means a it will be contaminater with moisture and need serviceing and rechargeing.
Be careful of the pressure on the lines

Recharge air conditioner where is the valve located that allows me to recharge the air conditioner

i belive on this year car and make its located under the air filter box, remove the intake hose then the cover for the air filter, remove the filter then remove the lower part of the air box there you will see the filter dryer and the lines coming off the dryer and there will be two fittings to charge the ac system, the smaller fitting is the low side this is the side to charge through, make sure not to overcharge the system and add oil as needed, a good idea is to add dye to the system to help in finding the leak if system goes low again, theres a decal under the hood or on the dryer that tells you how much freon the system can hold. if you under or overcharge the system the air may be cold but future ac damage is for sure, good luck.

Ac upper & lower stem locations

all a/c systems after 1995 are 134a. if you're trying to recharged the refrgerant, the ports are easy to locate along the a/c lines. they will be capped and one is larger that the other so you can't make a mistake connecting the charging hose. search youtube for instructional videos. there are many. be specific as to your vehicle when searching, as someone might have posted you paticular car. also there probably is more wrong with the a/c than just needing a recharge. after all it is 12 years old. stuff wears out.

How to recharge ac on 2003 s-type

Hello AC is a little tricky when it comes to Jaguar cars as it has a certain system to charge the AC. If the problem is only low on AC gas , you have to pressure test the gas circulation to make sure that there is no leak , as recharging will not do the trick if it is a leak problem. If it is a matter of short on gas and pressure test proves that there are no leaks , then all what you have to do is connect the gas supply to the inlet gas pipe and charge slowly and on phases , while engine is running and AC is at low speed. You have to feed the gas at more than one time and close as Jaguar would not take the gas at once , it has to be done more than once at small portions so that it will take the gas. It is tricky as you have to know about AC pressure values , as if you put less that required AC would not cool properly , and if too much Compressor will disconnect and would not run properly Hope that helps
