2005 Dodge caravan 3.3 liter went in store, returned to van tried to crank, would barely run for one second, held accelerator to floor and it cranks and does fine for a few weeks then does it again.

Fredrick, change gas filter to see if that helps, it does sound like the fuel pump is starting to weaken and fail, fuel pressure can be checked by a tech. to verify if pump is failing.

Ran out of gas wont crank now

You may have introduced air bubbles into your fuel lines. Try cranking while flooring the accelerator all the down. This will sometimes help move the air bubble through.

Why does my car bog down and wont accelerate up a hill?

Usually a sign of a fuel problem, either too much or too little.
Too much could be several problems including a clogged air filter, too little could be a weak fuel pump or other issue.
A mechanic would check fuel pressure and air flow first.

Wont start

the fuel lines may be leaking back into the gastank try to turn the key to the on but dont start the car. leave in the on position for 5-7 seconds do this a few times and then try to crank it. if it cranks you may have a bad fuel pump and or clogged fuel filter. change fuel filter first because its the cheapest. hope this helps.

Car cranks but wont kick over sometimes

Could be bad ignition switch; try starting the engine from under the hood directly via the starter (can use a long screwdriver to connect contacts. just use caution). If it constantly starts no problem this way, it's most likely the ignition switch. Also the starting idle could be low; try holding the accelerator down just barely and turn the key. If this works, that could be the problem.

Another problem could be the fuel pump; you can try starting the car with an 'alternate' fuel source i.e. spray accelerants to rule out variables. If it starts this way, more likely it's a fuel issue. I wouldn't advise this testing method as it isn't overly reliable or telling at times, it can damage the engine, and mainly it's very prone to producing a fire/fireball.

If the cranking quickly gets slower and longer, it's a power issue. Most likely bad battery.
