Mitsubishi Galan 1999, When I started driving it today it was smooth, drove just 2 minutes and suddenly car started stuttering and Service Engine Light came up. Now when I start car the voice is good but...

The engine management system has been alerted by one or more sensors of a malfunction and that has caused it to turn the service light on. It could be a number of things that caused it, but without knowing why, we would only be guessing. You need to have an OBD II diagnostic scan run on your Galant to determine what DTC codes have been set by the engine computer. If you can do that, and report back here with the code numbers i will continue to help, but we need those codes.

A typical code will be 2-3 letters letters followed by 2-3 numbers.... P0401 for example.

I was letting my 1990 galant warm up one morning and it died after running for 45 minutes, prior to this the car had a rough idle 800-900 rpms and had loss of power and hesitation. I have had ppl tell me...

Take it to an Autozone, Advance or any good parts store and have them do a fault scan. (OBII scan) That will give you EXACTLY what went wrong instead of going by blind suggestions. Throwing parts at it based on suggestions can get costly. Have parts store do scan, they do this for FREE, then you'll know what needs to be replaced/repaired.

How do I find out the radio code for a 1999 Mitsubishi Galant? I had to change the battery and now need to reset.

Hi,

If it was factory fitted (installed at time of first registration), then you will need to refer your request back to your local Mitsubishi Parts Dept., who will have your radio code on their database. You will need to prove you are the owner of this vehicle.

If it is aftermarket, then you need to track down the previous owner/supplier for the code.

Cheers,

If you have changed out the parts and still get the codes you probably need to have the ECM reset. The dealer can do that for you or a repair shop that has the scan tool.
