Question about 1999 Chevrolet Suburban

3 Answers

99 suburban heater hoses have different types of universal connectors(up to 3 connections on one). I can't find any store that has these. Are they available or do I need to get a complete kit. The Y connector is the one I can't find. I've replaced 2 other types.

I've gotten these connectors at a Napa Auto Parts store. Just check the diameter and they will probably have the size. They are cheap, less than a buck or two.

Every store has it , they just dont know they have it. ask them to look in the book.it is so common they dont have a part number.the y will be a universal and will be both size hose fittings on all 3 ends. it took the girl at the auto parts store to find it for me. then i asked to see how many were sold each month and it was over 30. noone there knew anything about it. go figure, snakeongrass

Heater hose connector at firewall is broken

Hi. I just had the same issue on my '99 Silverado last week. There are two connections for the heater hoses to the Heater core. One is white and the other is black. The Black one is available at any autoparts store for about 5 bucks but the white one is a dealer only part that the autoparts store guys will say does not exist. That is the bad news. The good news is that you do not need to use the dealer only part. The black fittings worked just fine for me. You will need to use a fuel line disconnect tool to remove the existing fittings from the heater core. These should run between 10 and 20 bucks for a set. Good luck. Joe

Plastic t hose connector cracked, what do i ask for at part store , lost broken part, this has three hoses connected to it, and it goes to the heater

If all the vacum hoses are the same size, cut a piece about a 1/4"off 1 of the hoses, and take it with you to
the parts store. Give the piece of hose to the parts guy/gal and tell them you need a 3 way vacum connector. Some are T shaped some are Y shaped get both they're cheap. Use the one that fits best without kinking the line. Also if you have different size
hose to the connecter, cut a 1/4" off each.
Hope this helps. Good luck

99 Chevy Z71 heater core inlet hose male fitting broke

This is an easy $7.00 fix. Go to your local auto parts store and get a GM Heater Hose Fitting. I went to NAPA, part #730-5631. Cut of the old fiting with a hack saw blade, being careful not to damage the pipe from the heater core, put the new one on. Total time takes less than 10 minutes, make sure you fill your coolant resevoir.
