Sounds like misfire.
On this cars common problem is - intake manifold gasket goes bad creating big vacuum leak , what makes fuel mixture very lean and causing misfire and even stalling engine.
Usually gasket goes bad toward rear of the engine.
How to check :
Buy carburator cleaner spray .
Turn engine on and spray cleaner in to intake manifold gasket area , from begining to the end of it.
If engine start choking or picks up the idle speed - it is your problem. Choking indicates big vacuum leak ,
idle increase indicates small vacuum leak.

Why do my headlights on my 2004 dodge durango cut off while driving down the road

engine stalls on the fly driving ,
has huge causes.
do head lamps die too , at same time?
does a fast right foot save it? or delay it or even cure it. ???????
do all electrics die or some only?
does it restart easy or only if let cool off the engine ( or restarts easy)
ever get a tune up in 18 years spark parts, filters all?

engines can sure do that for vast reasons even 50.
in macro form, a bad engine, bad spark , bad fueling, in that order.
there are many tests, for all that ,like 3 years of ASE study.
1: fuse blew and stalled, even pump fuse. but will not restart.
2: engine bad or just EGR stuck open or cats melted but again does it restart or even run cold to fail later, if does skip this. most times.
(keep in mind seen cylinders fail hot, valves in head stick open hot)
engine overheated some models of car, my 04chev, even cuts dead cylinders if engine overheats or even stalls it, as to not wreck it self.
3: bad spark, if ECU sees spark hard fail it cuts fuel, fix spark.
4: loss off fuel or too much./ too much floods engine, injectors stuck open or go dead/

there are a bevvy of tests to do in order.
just get it serviced if dead now say so
dead engines are easy to diagnose, and 10x safer too not moving.

Car cutting off??? and driving for 10min;and cutting back offmodule under core packs???

after car shuts off do you still have fuel pressure or ignition fire? most of the time on the 3.8 liter engine it is the ignition module that gets hot and cuts off. sometimes it can be fuel pump or even the crankshaft sensor.

Have a misfire code, engine will cut off while

V6 petrol engine mmh - if the misfire is swapping from one bank to the other then it sounds like an air leak - possible vacuum pipes or inlet manifold issue or even egr valve sticking

I was driving ad hit a bump doing that i dented my oil filter and all the oil leaked out i was driving to put more in but the car cut off on me abut came back on then it cut off and haven't came on yet. is...

thats the ECM protecting your engine thats why it wont start, you cant even idle your engine on no oil, yet alone drive it. change the oil filter, fill your engine with the recomended oil its probably 5w-30 to the operating range. and hope your car still starts. Hopefully it dint seize up on you, because that means your engine is now junk. sorry hope it starts for you. god bless.
