Question about Mitsubishi Pickup

Open Question

The relief valve on the inlet manifold (Triton 1994 MJ series 2.5 litre diesel) has started blowing off under load. The suggestion was that it was being caused by the waste gate actuator. Should I replace both or start with the wastegate actuator. This being that the relief valve is $270 and the actuator a bit more. The motor has done 396000km

SOURCE: 2000 ford super duty 7.3 diesel will not cold start

you need to have the engine coolant switch checked, since the computer relies solely on sensors, the ect tells the computer how cold or hot it is so the computer will make it a rich or lean mixture to start the engine,if it tells the computer that it is 75 degrees the computer will lean the mixture like starting a car in the winter without a choke.

hi is this pick up diesel if it is this is a safety point and the boost is reached the amount allowed there may be a secondary boost relief valve in the manifold some where, you have to block it off to allow the boost to increase more than 10 pound boost

I have a mazda 6 2 litre diesel eating oil, what

Mazda say that if your Mazda 6 consumues less than a litre every 900 miles then it within tolerance.
However these cars have a complicated induction mechanism controld by lots of diffrent vacume pots that are inturn controlled by servos, when any one of these becomes faulty the pressure balance between the exhaust side of the turbo and the inlet side becomes inbalanced, resulting in oil being forced through the turbos bearings. Its that simple lol!
The first thing I would check would be the swirl control valve, In the inlet manifold, This gets fouled up by the exhaust gases getting recycled by the egr valve(exhaust gas recycler)
Sooty deposits mix with oil coming from your turbo and jam it closed restricting the amount of air into the engine, and reducing power as well as creating black smoke from your exhaust.
So my advice would be to get your egr valve proffetionally blanked off, and have your induction system checked over.
Hope this helps as I am sure this is a very common problem!

VW stops pulling and smokes in spells when under a load

if its a diesel ??disconnect the pipe running to a valve that sits on top of exhaust manifold and connects to inlet manifold,if this works then dont bother repairing it as its mucho dinero.Just push a piece of twig down rubber pipe so its blocked off but it looks like its connected for the vehicle inspection.it will pass all emmisions tests no problem.

I have a 2000 Triton 2.8 diesel mk 4wd regularly serviced that blows black smoke constantly under power & uses excessive fuel

does your regular service includes the injection pump being brought down for cleaning and maintenance?

it is an injection pump problem. inside the injection pump are valves and strainers that are not accessible for regular users. they could only be cleaned or replaced by these people who work with injection pumps and they would calibrate the injectors also so that it would not be blowing black gas and uses excessive fuel.

tnx 4 using fixya,
