The ignition module is located right below the coil packs toward the back of the engine. The coil packs are bolted to it. Many auto parts can test these for once they have been removed.

How do I put a 99 Chevy Venture van into neutral column shifter and I do not have an ignition key is there a neutral bypass switch like if I had a center console shifter

There is often a safety interlock that is disabled by switching on the ignition and pressing the brake pedal.

As there is no key it will be necessary to energise the vehicle electrics manually using a jumper lead or similar.

Show picture of ignition control module on 1999 chevy venture

The ignition module is under the coils. I assume you have a 3.1L engine, or a 3.4L. In any case, the coils are mounted onto the ignition module.

It sounds like a bad connection on the rear wire harness. Check all your connections working forwards from the rear light system.

1007 chevy venture 3.4 liter v6 ''no spark''

These motors were notorious for the ignition module to go bad, if its not even trying to fire this very well could be the problem.first check the individual coils for spark. this motor has 3 coil packs, its not likely that all 3 would go bad at the same time. The ignition module is located behind these coils, which are held in place by 2 bolts each.remove the coils, then the bolts for the ignition module will be visible. remove the bolts, be careful removig the module, the crank sensor may be attached to the back of this module. The crank sensor is inserted straight into the block, held in by a rubber O ring, it will come out with the module so be sure to pull straight out on the module as to not damage the sensor.Take the module to your local parts store and have it tested, most places will do this for free.It will be a pass or fail test.If the module is good, your crank sensor may be bad, I've also seen this problem with this motor. good luck. I have a 99 chevy venture and it has been shutting itself off while im driving?

What you will have to do is when it shuts off you will have to check and see if your loosing spark to the plugs or fuel pressure. You could have a bad ignition module, crankshaft sensor,or fuel pump. There are 2 crankshaft sensors. You could have the engine codes read.Even if the check engine light is not on you can still have codes in the pcm.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Engine stalls after a few seconds..'99 Venture

Does the security light flash or come on steady ? Have a lot of thing's on your key ring ? Other key's with transponder inside , Do you know what a transponder is ?

The Ignition Key (Transponder)
The ignition key for PASS-Key® III equipped vehicles is a typical ignition key using a transponder pellet located in the end of the key. The ignition key transponder value is used in order to determine if a valid ignition key is being used in order to start the vehicle. When the ignition key is inserted into the ignition cylinder and the PASS-Key® III module detects the ignition voltage (the ignition switch is in RUN or START) the module measures the transponder pellet value. The PASS-Key® III module validates this value and performs the following functions:
• If the ignition key transponder value is valid, the PASS-Key® III module performs the following (system enable) functions:
- The PASS-Key® III module sends a pulse width modulated signal to the PCM to request fuel enable.
- The PCM enables the fuel system.
- This function enables the engine to start.
• If the ignition key transponder value is invalid, the PASS-Key® performs the following (system disable) functions:
- The PASS-Key® III module does not send the fuel request signal to the PCM.
- The PCM does not enable the fuel system.
- This function does not enable the engine to start and run. The engine may start and then stall due to residual fuel in the fuel system.
The PASS-Key® III module can identify up to 10 valid key codes to operate the vehicle.

Having excess thing's on you ring , including other PASS-Key® III keys , can confuse the computers .
