try this to rest the windows

Lower the window all the way manually.
Then manually raise the window for about 2-3 secs and stop.
Then manually raise the window all the way to the top and stop.
Then manually raise the window (actually just hold the button up as the window can't raise further) for 2-3 secs.

take off handles using screw driver and remove screws so you can pry off door panel clip pins to access inside. Just be careful to not damage the window or the string the the window motor causes to rise and lower the window as that would cause many hours for novice mechanic to fix.

Window wont raise

If its automatic, and all other windows raise with the button panel on the drivers door, then your problem is the motor within the door that raises or lowers the window. Easy quick fix.

If manual, the window probably got stuck and is jammed up within the door and needs to be bumped or put back on the track.

My drivers side window won't stay on the track when I lower it. It.s NOT powered. Is there something inside that I can't see keeping me from getting this done?

are you talking about the window going crooked when lowering it if so then there is a clip that mounts to the side of the window that keeps it in the track so it won`t do this.they sometimes break and you can buy the part and install it just be careful when installing so the window won`t break.if its the track at the lower edge of the window this is a pressure/glue type fit and the track will need to be cleaned, pushed together a bit and use a window glue and install the window into the track and let it sit for a couple of hours before trying it.

I own a 2000 Toyota Camry, 4 cyl. Driver side power window rolls down fine but when rolling up comes off track. The front part of the window is lower than the back. All other windows work o.k. I installed...

I just did one on my Chrysler. May be quite different, but I'm suspicious that the track was creased or the fur damaged in some way when you had the original problem, or the track is not secured tightly to the door frame. The regulator keeps the glass pretty even but if the window binds on a crease, or whatever, I guess it could get jammed and slide out the crease instead of up the slot. Good luck. Those accursed things are frustrating work in hard-to-get-in spots!

Driver's side power window jams and makes a "crrrrrnnnn" sound when I click to rise the glass. It moves up a little and them jams/noise. I raise it by hand and comes up a little more and jams/noise again....

Had the same problem, it is the worm gear. Go to the junk yard and get a replacement. DO NOT BUY A NEW ASSEMBLY!!!! The ones on ebay are ****, it will work, but the window will never roll up right and you will have to push it around to get it to seal. Take off the door panel, I think it is only the one screw by the handle, it has a small cover over it. The rest is just clips that pop out around the edges. I think there are two wiring harnesses that go to the power locks/windows that you will have to unplug as well. Try to get the window motor out without removing the arms and everything, it is a nightmare to try to get aligned perfectly once you take it out. Then just get one from the junkyard, should be around $40, and plug it in. Hope this helps.
