Try this turn the ignition on and then off slowly three times and then finally on again. Look at the mileometer it may report Pxxxx error code(s) for about 3 seconds. Make a note of these codes and look them up, they may offer a clue as to the cause. Check your battery, you may have left something on like an interior light and drained it

check ignition coil for fire when it is hot using a inline tester to check for fire to plugs. if no fire then replace coil. hope this will help!!

2000 alero won't start. turns over and fires but wont start


make sure your cap and rotor timing is correct double check spark plug routes (mistakes happen). maybe your timing is off in general.

Changed coil pack that wasnt firing started fine


check the fire to the coil pack if it's present then check the pulse to the crank sensor

Onece in a while turn over wont fire. runs great other wise


your injector or fuel pump may be going out, next time when you check the issue, check your distubutor again and making sure you getting sparks, if you do have sparks than it has to be your fuel problems.

possible ignition coil pack breaking down...unit cools off them fires plugs again...fuel pressure is a concern also ..possible failing fuel pump
