I RECENTLY THINK I HAD PUT SOME BAD GAS IN MY 2001 LINCOLN LS AND IT STARTED TO MISFIRE SO I DROVE ALL THE GAS OUT REFILLED IT WITH SUPREME AND GAS TREATMENT AND STILL WAS HAVING THE PROBLEM WHEN I REACHED UP TO 45 MPH, SO I CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS, VALVE COVER GASKETS, AND 2 OF MY COILS AND THE COMPUTER IS STILL SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT AN O2 SENSOR SO I AM TRYING TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT JUST BE

Bad coil pack or packs also check for leaking valve cover gasket. if you have oil where spark plugs go then the valve cover is bad and possibly causing coil packs to be bad.

I HAVE BEEN GETTING THE PO316 CODE FOR THE LAST 3 MONTHS. I HAVE FOUND 7 OTHER LINCOLN AVIATOR OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. BETWEEN THE RANGE OF 40-60 THE TRUCK STUTTERS, STAULS AND RUNS EXTREMELY ROUGH. WE ALL HAVE LAREADY CHANGED THE COILS, COIL PACKS, SPARK PLUGS, FUEL FILTER, THROTTLE SENSOR, CAM SENSOR, CRANK SENSOR AND ARE LEFT WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE ALSO HAD 3 LOCAL MECHANIC SHOPS RUN 1 HOUR DIAGNOSTICS ON THE TRUCK AS WELL AS A PERSONAL MECHANIC AND THE PO316 MISFIRE CODE IS VERY VAGUE. IF ANYONE HAS A RESOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
THANK YOU

Without seeing the car would say to do these things. Check for vacuum leaks on hoses, see that the mass air sensors is hooked up properly. Look for exhaust leaks, there could be air **** in causing the oxygen sensor be thrown off. Look at the oxygen sensors to make sure they're not damaged. Next check the ignition system. If the mis is constant disconnect one sparkplug at a time until you find which cylinder is missing. Switch coil packs to another cylinder to verify this. If the ignition seems OK you might have a bad sensor. Mass air or throttle position sensor. Good luck.

simply swap out one injector for another (I simply say if you there already just replace the injector...its a possibility that it is a bad or plugged up fuel injector. on number 4 cylinder. if spark and fuel are ok, its the injector doing this. good-day !

Do you have a MIL -Check Light on? If so, what codes do you have?

Warm it up ,& turn the screw on the end of the hose, just below your Brake Booster. When coolant runs out close it. That is to vent air, out of the coolant system.
Use only Yellow GO5 coolant. 50/50 or 60/40 with water.

Check for more PO 301 to 308 COP Coil codes!

When you do spark plugs, look for valve cover O'Rings, leaking oil onto the plugs, causing a misfire

white smoke sounds like either ingesting transmission fluid through a vacuum ,or a blown head gasket.those cars have coils and yes they go bad.you need to do a compression test and see if the head gasket is gone.low compression can also cause a misfire by not burning the fuel properly.
