Hi this is located just above the a/c pump on left hand side bottom of motor, easiest way to locate it is, follow the top hose from the front radiator in the engine bay, and follow it to the motor itself, there is where the thermostat will be...hope that helps

Where is thermostat in a 2002 grand prix

Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine block. There should be an 'L' shaped housing connected to the top of the block by a couple of bolts. Remove bolts, lift the housing and pry off the thermostat with a flat screwdriver. Be careful though cuz any fluid in that hose will spill. This video may help:

Where is the thermostat on a 2002 Pontiac grand prix?

at the engine end of the upper rad hose. if you the 3.8 engine, it is easily accessable. if it is a 3.1 or 3.4, you have to remove the throttle body to gain access to the housing - it is underneath. good luck!

My 2002 Grand Prix is having a overheating

you probably have a stuck thermostat, it is under the throttle body on the drivers side, pretty difficult job if you are not an experienced mechanic

2002 Pontiac Grand Prix Thermostat

as you face the engine the thermostat bell is on the right (drivers side) Follow the radiatoe hose. Remove the two bolts and raise the bell still attatched to the hose. the thermostat is there with the rubber seal. You can gently pry the thermostat out with a screwdriver or something similar. Put in new thermostat be sure it is the same as the old one, and then replace or change the seal (be sure it is the smae size and thickness as the old one as I got the wrong size from Napa) Then replace the bell, and tighten, but not over tighten. I hope this helps!
