Question about 2002 Nissan Sentra
When you say it wanted to turn over did you mean that the car will turn
over normally and not start? If this is he case check the fuel pump
relay under the dash. If it cranks slow get the battery fully charged
and see if that helps. If it turns over fine check the key by using
your other one to see if the other key works.
Can you here a pump noise when you turn ignition on? If you can have you go any fuel in or the lines onthe wrong way. The car isn't firing not turning over. You have a spark because it fires when using fuel substitute; take off a fuel inlet line turn the ignition on cheak to see any fuel if theres not you have a pump fault still. Here is the list of troubleshooting procedure. Follow the numerical order. I do be believe in your case has something to do with fuel, most possibly your fuel pump:
1. Check fuel pump circuit.
2. Check fuel injector circuit.
3. Check Idle Air Control Valve circuit.
4. Check Mass Air Flow circuit.
5. Check coolant temp sensor circuit.
6. Check camshaft position sensor circuit.
7. Check EGR valve.
Also, remember that its possible that have lost the programming on your ignition key. Most newer Nissans have programmable sentry keys that if they lose programming or the battery is disconnected at any time or looses voltage, the key will need to be reprogrammed. This, unfortunately, requires the car be towed to the dealer and have them program it. The vehicle will turn over but it will not start, which is an indication that the immobilizer has activated.
Hope this helps.
