Question about 2002 Nissan Altima

1 Answer

Just bought a used 2002 Nissan Altima. Recently found the floor (rear passenger) soaking wet UNDERNEATH the floormat. The floors are not wet anywhere but there. Have taken it to various mechanically inclined friends, all of whom insist I must have spilled something, as this is apparently nowhere near a normal spot for any leaks. I have checked forums and there's a lot of reports for similar problems in the FRONT passenger floor, and those are generally attributed to an AC drain clog or sunroof drain clog. The model I purchased has no sunroof, so i'm basically scratching my head over here. Anyone ever heard of anything like this?--Any ideas?

Take off the door trim and make sure the plastic liner is stuck all round the door frame,as if the previous owner has replaced a speaker and not stuck it back.........

I'm having the same exact problems with my 2002 Nissan Altima but it only does it with the heat. I can run my air all day and it will not wet my floor. But soon as I turn on my heat my passenger floor board gets soaking wet. My also does not have a sunroof.

My 2002 Ford Taurus passenger floor (front) is soaking wet. I have read that it could be a plugged hose. I am a female and have no experience...where do I find the hose to work on this? Can't affo

Sounds like the AC condenser drain is plugged. Do you notice a puddle under the right front while idling with the AC running? If not, the drain is plugged should be an easy and cheap fix at any local garage.

I have a 2001 DEVILLE. I am getting two inches of water on the floor in from of the back seat on the passenger side of the vehicle. Nothing is visably wet anywhere but on the floor.

Is it wet in the front passenger also? I had this problem a few months ago and 1 of the gurus from here told me to check the ac drainage hose under the vehicle...it was clogged. Other than getting soaked once i unclogged it, it was pretty easy. Good luck

Look underneath behind the passenger side front wheel. You might need to remove the plastic mud guard. It would be easier to see if you jacked it up and put it on jack stands.

Wet rear floor

Have you by any chance jacked up the passenger side, or got vehicle on a hoist to make sure there isn't any plugs on the underside that may have fell out? They could be round or oval metal or rubber plugs, probably in that area.

Wet rear floor

I had a similar issue and found that the two rear drain holes for the sun roof came off and any water was running down into the trunk and also the rear floor was always wet. I pulled the rear of the roof panel down to expose the rubber tubes, re-seated them with glue so they would not come off again.
