I have a 97 grand cherokee larado and when I shut it off it won't start back up for a few mins..then it fires there a kill switch on it or something else wrong possibly

No kill switch. You may have a fuel pump pressure issue, it may being losing pressure after shut down due to a faulty fuel pump check valve. Do a fuel pressure leakdown test, start the engine with a fuel pressure test gage hooked to the test port on the fuel supply rail to the fuel injectors, looks like a tire valve. Start the engine and run it and check for leaks at the pressure port to the test gage, repair as needed, once you are sure the test gage is leak free shut the engine down, if the fuel pressure bleeds down very quickly then you need to replace the fuel pump.

Dodge Intrepid Problems

Water temperature at 230 Degrees F is at boiling point in a pressurized system and it is shutting down because the CPU is reading possible damage to the engine . I suggest you find out why the coolant temperature is so high as 212 f is boiling and 220 would be maximium. I suggest that the sensors are controlling the CPU and if so there would be no fault codes recorded . Check the radiator for flow restrictions and check the compression for head problems.

2003 Town & Country hard to start. Once it's starts it will start every time . Wait a few minutes then it's hard to start. Must turn over three or four time to start.

It sounds like possibly a fuel pump issue. The pump may be losing its prime because of a sticking check valve in the pump. Instal a pressure gauge and watch the fuel pressure after shutting the car off. The pressure should not completely drop off it should only drop a few pounds. If it loses more than a few pounds of pressure quickly then it may need a fuel pump. This can also be caused by leaking fuel injectors so further diagnosis is needed to find the source of the leak

While driving jeep loses elect. to engine. still has fuel pressure. after a few minutes it will strat back up.

Check all fuse box connections, battery terminals and leads. Also check age of battery. If it has too much silt in the bottom of it (corrosion) then it may be shorting within.

My truck wont start when it is cold, i checked the fuel pressure and it reads 52 lbs. When the truck is warm it will start everytime. Oil pressure gauge is reading low, but the dipstick reads full.

When are you taking the fuel pressure reading? After it has sat for awhile or right after you shut the truck off when you get it running? Have you tested the pressure right before you try to start it cold?

I would check the pressure right after shutting the truck off, then wait an hour and check it, and once again after another hour. If you lose fuel pressure then you either have a bad fuel pressure regulator or you have a loose fitting / cracked line or some problem that allows air in the fuel line causing the fuel to syphon back to the fuel tank.

The next time you try and start it cold, turn the key to the on position and listen for the fuel pump whine to stop, then turn the key off and repeat above step 2 or 3 more times. If it is losing pressure, then doing that will build your fuel pressure back up and it will start.

Check the pressures and report back your findings.

losing fuel pressure when engine is off and until the fuel system gets back up to pressure it is hard to start. faulty/leaky injector of fuel pump allowing pressure to bleed back into tank. also f/p regulator can cause problem too.
