Question about 2001 Ford Escape
When I start my Escape I hear a ticking sound for about 20 seconds and it goes away. The sound seems to be coming from the front side of the engine. I was not sure if it was the radiator or engine making that noise. I did also notice that there was a very small spot of oil on the floor under the truck. I did find a very small amout of oil above the oil pan on the passenger side of the engine. This could be related I'm not sure. Any ideas what might be the problem would be a great help. If I could I would rather fix this my self. I just need to find a good starting point. Thanks.
Oil viscosity is too thin or broken down..Change the oil to a thicker grade. If the ticking persist worn Hydralic lifters or worn oil pump
Leaks will occur after a few years with any engine so repair them as soon as possible if its a large one
