SOURCE: Grinding sound on front passenger side of 91 honda accord.

Well, if the transmission seems to be okay , The timing belt or chain is most likely the noise based on the age of the vehicle. The tech you took the vehicle to should be able to pin point the noise with stethascope ears.

Make sure the oil level is full.

Good Luck

SOURCE: I have a 99 QX4 ; sometimes grinding noise in reverse gear

I actually just figured out noise is coming from around where catalyic converter is. I now see that the plate that protects the converter (heat plate ?) is totally off. I just took it off. I will see if it still makes noise. Can I just have them weld a new one back one or do I need a new catalyc converter ?

SOURCE: When stopping in drive position the transmission

there are a few posibilities.I would start with the basic checks.start with the mounts and make sure that the motor or trany are not viberateing or rubbing on anything. If that checks good then check the fluid to see if it is burnt if the fluid is any color but pink to a redish then there is problems with the internals and you will need a knowlegable technitian take a look at your car.Im sorry I cant really be of anymore help without looking at the car

TAPPING NOISE, NOW IT WON'T GO INTO GEAR WITHOUT LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND ACTS LIKE TRANSMISSION WON'T ENGAGE TO DRIVE

If it is an automatic transmission, first check the fluid level. If it is low, fill it up and try it again. If the level is fine, then there is a bigger issue and you should seek a professional's help.

Every thing works fine in drive but when i put it in reverse it..

Your transmission obviously has a problem. Take it to a transmission repairer.

I have a 94 modle corsica and when i go to back up it makes a grinding sound under the car in the front. it only dose it when there is strain put on it in reverse. Could someone tell me what it could be?

well, i have the same model make and year, and I can tell you mine does the same thing. i have yet to narrow it down, however it has yet to do any damage to the vehicle, though I can easily see where it is unnerving and annoying. i know this is not a true fix, however there seems to not be much to this, several mechanics have told me its just something they do (that year) and not to worry unless it causes a problem. hope this helps!

1984 Honda Accord Transmission Grinding

I would recommend you take it to 3 different repair shops to get quotes on the cost of repairs.
Sounds internal to me .
Automatic transmissions are best left to the Pro's to fix , You need alot of tools and a very very very clean workshop for starters.
Hope this helps , Sorry I couldn't offer a quick fix.

1999 Accord Automatic Transmission issue

im so sorry to say that Honda has a bad transmission line in the 98-02 accord models.. there were severe recalls on this very matter..I only got rid of my 99 accord V6 because the shop who changed my motor mounts crushed my transmission line and blamed it on me..if you had motor mounts or timing done or serpentine belt(i forgot if it has both or just 1),then check to see if transmission line is crushed it can be seen right underneath the battery..
