You need to take the compressor out through the bottom of the car. Jack up the car take the passenger side tire off, remove shielding, this will make it easier to work on. It will take some time plan and 2 to 4 hours. Hopes this helps.

How to bypass air conditioning compressor on 2002 ford taurus?

You would need to replace the compressor with an A/C illiminator bracket/pulley, you cannot just put a shorter belt as it would still make contact with the a/c pulley, at least on a 3.0L OHV version.

Drain the antifreeze from the radiator into a drain pan by loosening the drain plug on the bottom right corner of the radiator by hand. Place the antifreeze where children and animals cannot access it.

Remove the fan shroud as well as the bolts that hold the fan to the water pump using a 10 mm socket on the fan shroud bolts. Remove the idler pulley bracket and the belt from the air conditioner compressor using a 9/16-inch socket and ratchet. Loosen the bolts on the power steering pump with a 5/8-inch socket, then push down on the power steering pump to loosen the belt and remove it. The air conditioner compressor and the power steering pump are both located on the right front side of the engine block.

Remove the lower radiator hose from the water pump by loosening the clamp with a flat head screwdriver, then remove the bypass hose from the top of the water pump.
    • 5
Remove all of the bolts that secure the water pump to the block of the engine, then remove the water pump. Use a razor blade knife to scrape the surface of the water pump jackets on the block and remove any remaining gasket material

To replace the condense of A5 VW Golf 4 cylinder air conditioner and change oil in pump

To change the condensor undo the lines and mounts and remove.Replacing is opposite proceedure. Replace the air dryer/ receiver at the same time. There should be no need to change the compressor oil as it moves trhrough the system with the gas and there is no sump as such.

My ac blows nuetral air and the compressor does'nt come on when the car is started.

90% of the time with car and home air conditioners it is the capacitor that has blown. They are usually pretty cheap and in most cases easy to get to.

You may be able to find a step by step repair guide on the net. Locate the capacitor and remove it, but first remember or write down the wire locations first.
Once removed most all capacitors are flat on top and bottom and by design when they go bad they blow outwards like a dropped coke can. it will have a concave or bowing outwawd on one or both top and bottom. Also most ac repair shops will test it for free.

In my home I saved $180 - $350 changing it myself. The capacitor was only $50

Air Conditioner compressor runs all the time causing overheating. The Heater Air conditioner Knob on the console turns but doesn't change anything. When I unplugged the Compressor The engine still...

Remove the belt and check if your A/C pulley turns freely. If it doesn't you need to have it repaired. If it does, you have other problems, thermostat, radiator, fluid, etc. Good luck.

I have a Jetta 99 GLS w/197K. I took the car to the mechanic and they said it was the compressor. Repairs are approx 1K. My question is, can the car be driven as is? I do not know what is the corrleation...

I presume the compressor you refer to is the air conditioner compressor.
If so, the car can be usually be driven as normal so long as you don't operate the air conditioner cooling. With the air conditioner off, the compressor is not in use.
If the fault with the a/c compressor is with the front bearing (drive noise or belt squeal) you may need to remove the drive belt.

1998 Crown Victoria air conditioner

Fuse 9, 50A under hood, Fuse 5 15A Instrument panel. If they're ok, make sure the compressor clutch can be turned by hand (engine off, obviously). If not replace the compressor. Most common problem is the cycle switch. That should be the electrical connector on top of the accumulator. Just jump that by backprobing the connector on both sides with a pinand connect them, with the car on and a/c on if the compressor clutch engages, replace the switch. If it doesn't, try wiggling wire harness and watch it, if it engages, find a broken wire and repair it.

How do you remove the Air conditioner clutch from a 1997 chevy

Replace the whole compressor. If you don't have the proper tools to replace the clutch with, you will never get it out. The compressors are bad for the front seals leaking on those, and would be best to replace the whole thing.
