Location of the speed sensors on my 1999 ford explorer

Vehicle Speed Signal
The vehicle speed signal is generated by the rear anti-lock brake sensor and sent to the 4-wheel anti-lock brake system (4WABS) module. The 4WABS module sends the vehicle speed signal via circuit 679 (GY/BK) to all systems which require a vehicle speed signal input.
Speedometer
The electronic speedometer receives a speed signal from the 4WABS module.

1995 cirrus transmission limp mode

THE INPUT & OUTPUT SPEED SENSORS ARE ON THE TRANSAXLE , THEY HAVE A TWO PRONG WIRE CONNECTOR @ EACH SENSOR. THEY ARE IMPORTANT !!!! THEY SEND INFO TO THE CONTROL SOLONOID FOR SHIFT QUALITY AND SHOULD ELIMINATE THAT LIMP MODE CONDITION. I WOULD ALSO CHANGE THE TRANS FILTER & FLUID, USE ATF+4 FLUID ONLY , DONOT USE DEXRON FLUID, ITS NOT GOOD FOR THIS TRANSAXLE, USE ONLY ATF+4 , ONLY !!! CLEAN PAN & THE SMALL MAGNET IN BOTTOM OF PAN . USE A NEW GASKET & FILTER. THE LOCATION OF YOUR SENSORS ON THE TRANSAXLE , STANDING IN FRONT OF CAR, HOOD OPEN, LOOK DOWN @ TRANSAXLE, (TRANSMISSION), USE FLASHLIGHT TO LOOK FOR SENSORS, INPUT , MIDWAY, CLOSE TO CONTROL SOLONOID, OUTPUT, TOWARDS WHEEL. LOWER AREA/TRANS, ARE YOUR NEUTRAL SAFETY & BACKUP SWITCHES ! THREE PRONG CONNECTORS, HOPE THIS HELPS !

98 ford windstar fuse box, need anti lock brake fuse location in fuse box

The sensor codes have to be read off a computer to see the problem, either speed sensor, sounds more like ABS module. Locate the main fuse/control box under hood. There should be either a relay or large fuse marked for abs.Good Luck. Please rate me as ' helpful ' if satisfied.

P0501 code on 2004 dodge ram, how to repiar

Causes A P0501 DTC trouble code may be caused by one or more of the following:
  • The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is not reading (functioning) properly
  • There is a broken/frayed wire leading to the vehicle speed sensor
  • The vehicle's PCM is not correctly configured for the actual tire size on the vehicle
Possible Solutions The simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
Next, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the speed sensor. The location of the sensor depends on your vehicle. The sensor could be on the rear axle, transmission, or perhaps the wheel hub (brake) assembly.
If the wiring and connectors are OK, then check the voltage at the speed sensor. Again, the exact procedure wil depend on your make and model of vehicle.
If everything looks OK, replace the sensor.

How do I replace the vehicle speed sensor on a 2000 dodge durango. The abs and brake light came on and it stalls every so often. Can this be the problem?

Not likely. The ABS system and the vehicle speed sensor are two separate issues. the speed sensor is located on the transmission and usually accessed on the right side. based on your description of the vehicle stalling I would have to say the ABS problem is a vacum problem or faulty master cylinder. Check your vacum lines for leaks and damage, especially the one going to the master cylinder or brake booster. I recommend the Haynes repair manual on your vehicle for further information on the location and replacement of the speed sensor.

Transmission input output speed sensors

The speed sensor is on the tailshaft of the transmission,on the passenger side of the car,it has 3 wires. The output sensors are located on the front of the transmission about mid-way up the housing & only have 2 wires. Note the output sensors are not responsible for vehicle speed. Only the output shaft speed is recorded. They are for finding the correct cvi(clutch volume index) only. If you have a cvi issue, the transmission is toast.
