I would replace the spark plugs, check the plug wires and cap and rotor. Also check the air filter and I'd replace the fuel filter.

91 civic 5spd doesnt have any power when i step on the padal it takes a few min. to get to 60 mph and struggles a lot

I had a '90 CRX myself for many years. Loved that car. A simple tune-up brought a lot of power back to it, as did new spark plug wires and a new ignition coil.

One thing I found out was that those Honda engines really need the backpressure from their exhaust systems in order to run correctly. If you're running on your original muffler/header, etc, it's probably time to replace all that stuff.

You'll also want to check your compression in your cylinders. A car that old (20 years! congrats!) might have some cracks in the head gasket.

Problem with cold start and blowing smoke, runs fine after warm

You may need a tune up if its been longer than 12,000 miles since the last one.

I just bought a Honda civic,98 .my car isn't passing smog test ,the mechanic couldn't tell me what's wrong,I also tried in pepboys, honda mechanics, smog test shop.

This might be due to innefficient air - fuel combustion. One reason causing this is the piston displacement and poor compression ratio. Better yet have the engine tuned up and considering the age of the engine maybe this is the perfect time for it to be overhauled.

91 civic runs fine but stalls without warning

Could be many, many things, but just off hand I would have your fuel pump checked. Almost any garage should be able to tell if your fuel pressure is where it should be. The problem, of course, is that a failing fuel pump will run all right, and then it won't, and then it will. Eventually it will fail altogether and then your car won't start of run at all.
Hope this helps.

91 honda civic dx. Starts, runs for a few seconds then stalls

Try pounding on the gas tank with a rubber mallet or similar tool. (careful not to dent the tank) Try starting it. If it runs, replace the fuel pump (it's nfg). I've diagnosed numerous fuel pumps this way. Remember the pump needs to be replaced, if you drive it, you don't know when it'll fail for good. Hope this helps. Please post the results.
