Hi: To make Sure its your Radiator and Not Your Lower Radiator Hose or Water Pump. With the Enging Cooled down, Fill it all the way up, Raise the Front of your Blazer, Support it with Jack Stands. And Start Engine, Slide under the Front of your Blazer With a Good Bright Light and You Should Be able to Pin Point Your Leak.If it is your Raditor I would Either Check the Price on Repairing you Radiator Or Check your Local Auto Supplier for the Cost of A Reconditined Raditor or A New One. Hopefull you Find that its Your Lower Radiator Hose,Or some A Lot Less Expensiove. You can Also Rent a Cooling Sytem Pressure Tester ,with this it Attaches at the Same Place your Radiator Cap Does. You Pump it up Cold Or Warm to the Correct Pressure ,Get Specs From Your Parts Supplier or Dealer.Don't Over Pressurize your Cooling System. This will give you the Same Pressure If you where Driving It Under Normal Tempeture. I'm Sure You'll Find Your Problem, Let Me Know Please By Voting and Also Write me a Testamony on the Quality Of Solutions I've Given You.Any Other Problems Just send a Message Thru FIXYA and i'll be Glad to Further Help You. Thanks The WYOCWBOY

Hi,i own a 2003 ford bantam(rocam). The problem I have is that I'm constantly topping up water every second day, what could be the cause of this?

The coolant is leaking out some ware, the system has to be under pressure to find the leak, you may be able to hire a radiator pressure pump, if so pump the radiator to the pressure on the cap, and check for leaks.

How to fix my heater?

First check the heater hoses coming through the firewall from the engine are not leaking, damaged or blocked. make sure that the water is passing through these when you turn on the heater. My guess is that is that the hot water from the engine is not circulating through these pipes to the heater radiator inside the vehicle at the bottom center of the dash board console. Check to see if the cable connecting the heater control knob has not come loose and the check that there is no leak in that heater radiator by inspecting that the surrounding areas are not damp by the foot-wells. If so remove that radiator and send in to a radiator repair center to be repaired. if they cannot repair it then te heater radiator will have to be replaced.

Get the coolant pressure tested, its definitely leaking coolant. You will need to get the coolant running line.

Pressure test will help you to know from where exactly coolant/refrigerant is getting leaked.

Transmission fluid & radiator fluid keeps getting low. know approx. where leak is, drivers side front on inside of front tire. would a leak in radiator cause trans. fluid to leak also from radiator?...

Your transmission fluid runs to your cooling system to cool the transmission oil. So, in answer to your question, one of the two transmission lines (one in, bottom and one out, top) could be leaking from the cooling system.

Bring your vehicle in for a cooling system pressure check. Another thing to keep in mind when inspecting leaks is that where you see the leak may not necessarily be where the leak is from. While the leak will drip down, the wind from when you're driving will splatter the leak all over the under-carriage of your vehicle making it look like leaks are happening where they in fact, are not.

I have a 1995 buick century. i want to flush radiator, but i couldn't located the draining valve. i need a help, if you can locate the draining valve for radiator.

Hi, if there is not a petcock or plug at the bottom of the radiator, you can just remove the lower radiator hose to drain the coolant. Many cars do not have drain plugs. Please let me know if you have more questions and thanks for using FixYa.

Leaking Radiator

you can try tightening it first but yes it just has an o ring around it that is easily purchased at any auto parts and easy to install but antifreeze will have to come out,or you also can buy a whole other drain plug and try to remove and replace it fast as not to loose much coolant with out having to drain the system. good luck hope this helps you.

Why i have to refil the radiator water evry 2 wks. i just change also the termostad and temperature sames ok. no leaking any ware...

Check the condition of the seals in the radiator cap, the coupling hose to the overflow tank, and the tank itself for any cracks. Make sure that water isn't ending up in your oil supply. You might have head gasket problems that allow combustion gases into the cooling system forcing out water and causing overheating. A well-equipped shop will have a test for that problem and can advise on repairs. Good luck!

Replce bottom radiator hose

First, find the pitcock, turn it and drain antifreeze completely. Than turn screws loose on clamp and twist of hose on each end.
Put on new hose and fill up with new 50/50 coolant. Fill it with to top of radiator, start car with cap off, make sure to burp hose while pouring in new coolant.

2003 volkswagon beetle radiater leak

Hi, you 1st have to determine the exact location of the leak, which may involve removal of the radiator to repair anyway. How bad is the leak? How often do u have to add coolant, and how much? If it's a minor leak, you can purchase 'radiator stop leak' from a parts store, that will seal it.
so, try the stop leak if it's a minor leak, you can have it removed and repaired, or purchase a new one. Having said all that, the leak could be a hose leaking, but running down and dripping off the radiator making it look like a radiator leak. With engine warm but not running, use a small mirror to hunt around to see if u can find the source of the leak. Look closely under the radiator hoses, as that could be where the leak is. It would be from the radiator bottom and up, any further back and it wouldn't show up at the bottom of the radiator, so no need to check back any further. Let me know what u find, good luck countrycurt0
