Question about 2002 Toyota Highlander
The air conditioning in my highlander smells like ammonia. I had just recently changed the cabin filter and have only used it a few times this season. What does this problem indicate and will it be expensive to repair?

It also helps to spray some Fridgi-Fresh or Fridgi-Freeze stuff on the cabin air filter and into the A/C condensor. It kills the odor causing bacteria. A local auto parts store should stock it. Might run you about $20 for a bottle of it.

Th efilter is behind the glove box (if it has one) the drain for the a/c evaporator is pluuged. Usually you can have a mechaninc blow air into the hose OR you can poke a small wire up the hose to unglog it. its located at the firewall under the hood at the passengers feet area.

SOURCE: how do i replace the
do you mean the cabin filter?
If you do, then the filter is located under the glove compartment or on the passenger side under the hood under a plastic shroud.
Check your manual.
