If the tensioner is still working fine, don't worry about it. These rarely give problems, and are easy to replace, so if for some reason it does go out down the road, it's no big deal. When you have the belt off, check the tensioner for play in the pulley. If there's no play, and you haven't been hearing squealing in the belt when you start the car up, your tensioner is fine as is.

My serpantine belt has been dislocating many times from alternator, how to improve this situation? should I change the alternator with a new one? My Car is Suzuki Aerio 2004, please help me to solve this...

Before replacing the alternator or belt I would take a look at the belt tensioner. Sounds like the belt is loose, and that would be a problem with the tensioner.

Serpantin belt replacement? I need a manual!!!

You need a 14mm socket on a extended breaker bar,
place on automatic tensioner center pulley bolt which is the dumpy pulley located above the alternator.
Move the nut to tighten which will move spring loaded tensioner to low side which will allow you to slip belt off.....installlation is the reverse

I have a problam with my serpantine belt I replaced it twice in 3 days They wware out I thinnk my belt tensioner is bad I hear a loud squeal when I drive so is it my belt tensioner

could be the tensioner or you threaded the belt wrong... before installing a new belt, turn each itm it touches ( water pump, alternator, AC, etc..) to see if they all spin freely. If they do, check the tensioner for free spin.. remember the tensioner needs to be preloaded with travel to push against the belt. Just follow under hood guide for thread pattern and use wrench for the tension arm

How to install serpantine belt tensioner on 2000 pontiac grand am

Hello,
Basically, Remove the belt. Then remove the bolt that the tensioner pivots on and remove it. It's fairly easy. You may need to remove the belt pulley to make it easier.
The problem comes as your trying to get to it. If you can't see it well or something is in the way. Like the plastic overflow tank or something like that. Then you will need to remove what is keeping you from getting to the tensioner. I did one on a four cylinder last week. The belt pulley on that one had a left hand thread. The tensioner itself should be right hand thread.
Good luck.

Adjust alternator belt

you shouldent need to remove anything to replace or tighten your serpantine belt there is two pullys without grooves the one on the left should be the tensioner if you turn the bolt clockwise it looses the belt off so you can pull it off if done right you can take the belt and pull it around the fan then reverse to put a new one back on
