Question about Toyota Tercel
Hello! I suspect you have a resistive connection to the starter motor...Place a voltmeter across the positive of the battery and the positive connection on the starter motor...Since it appears to fail when hot take the reading at that time...You should read less that .5 volts...Set the meter on X1 ohm scale...Read from the negative of the battery to chassis and negative of battery to engine block...Both should read zero ohms...
I agree that the motor mount (engine mounting absorber) is at fault...there are 2 (front and rear) about $50 each ...Also there is a stiffing plate (2 bolts to engine, 1 to frame) that could be broken...Not hard to change...
