Usually in the middle part of the engine block, about half way up, usually 3 on each side. There also maybe a couple in the head.

Where and what is a TPS on 1997 kia sophia 1.6 car idles to fast

TPS is the Throttle Positioning Sensor and it is attached the the throttle body. Yours is probably dirty. Go to parts house and get throttle body cleaner, remove air cleaner hose at throttle body, place a rag under the throttle body and block open the throttle plate and spray cleaner all around, let evaporate, reassemble and start car. Problem should be gone

Kia sophia overdrive doesn't work

The transmission in this car is electronically controlled, so if it isn't shifting properly the very first thing that must be done is to have the TCM (transmission control module) scanned for fault codes, in your case it is likely the a sensor that is called the VSS is defective. Have the test run. Aamco transmission repair will do the test for free and the preliminary diagnosis for free as well.

Please rate my help for Fixya, it improves my status and it is all I ask for my time helping you with your problem. Thanks

I just wanna ask if I can change the water pump on my Kia sophia at home?is it easy or I need to go to the shop?

It's not that bad of a job to do, but if your timing belt has gone bad. more then likely you have piston to valve damage, this is an interference engine, which will cause internal engine damage.Belt should be change out every 60,000 miles.
