Yeah its pretty easy to change the mass air flow sensor. find the mass air flow sensor on your air intake an un screw it a n disconect the cable an replace. the tps...... if you are looking at the motor (standing in front of front bumber looking at the engine top right side of motor you will see the throttle sensor an all you have to do is un screw and put new one in. it should just fit right in with no problem.

Code P1102 - States pending fault.

P1102 for the Mazda is :Mass Airflow Sensor Signal Inconsistent with Throttle Position Sensor. The Mass Airflow Sensor is located in the housing before the Throttle body; it reads the air coming into the system....the Throttle Position Sensor tell the ECU how much throttle you are asking for....I think that the in-air flow and the throttle are not getting the same answer; example would be that you are driving fifty miles an hour and either the MAS or the TPS are not seeing (receiving) this information. Note; most times the MAS is at fault, it can be cleaned but be very careful.

I have a 2001 kia sephia and when i press the gas pedal down the car spudders i changed the fuel filter and it still happens took it to auto zone said mass airflow sensor signal range/performance also said...

The diagnostics said the MAF sensor and Throttle position sensor (TPS) are not performing well. The TPS has the most significant effect and you should fix this first, buy a used one on Ebay and change it, its very simple to do if you can reach it. The MAF sensor has a metal wire that sits in the airflow and it can be cleaned by a cotton-bud dipped in acetone, but this sensor affects efficiency, failure would not cause misfiring.

Truck running poorley,******* gas

have you replaced both the air & fuel filters ? important ! also, did you over look replacing the OXYGENsensor ? important ! when you replaced your TPS, you may have not realized with engine not running that the tps increased the idle. you can adjust the idle by mounting the TPS with engine running, loosen nuts, while holding tps, turn it a little to adjust RPM's, retighten nuts or bolts, once you feel its right. the rpm's that is. tight is tight, too tight is broke ! the EGRvalve is something to consider with these engines, they get clogged up, remove yours and clean it out, or replace it, it does matter. how old is your MAS SENSOR, mass airflow sensor ? this is a major player in the performance of your engine ! works together with oxygen sensor !

Car is hesitating during acceleration

Hi there i have a 2000 v6 camaro and i just rebulit the top end of the motor over the summer my car does this same exact thing ive diagnosed it as a tps but my throttle body is all one piece and i have fly by wire system so its about 500 to replace. when its really cold in the morning it doesnt like to idle smooth also because if my coolant temp. sensor. For you i would recommend doing a compression test on all of the cylinders, checking for spark, and also check and possibly replace tps( throttle position sensor)..

My 1999 caddilac eldorado feels like it wants to stall while in gear

Several conditions could be the cause of your problem.
  1. Bad MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor - often responsible for erratic idling
  2. Bad TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) - controls idle speed under all conditions ie warm, cold, + with A/C running.
It's possible to diagnose further by getting a diagnostic test done. Most chain auto parts stores will run a free diagnostic test to obtain a OBDII code (these codes specify which components are either failing or not responding) It is possible that a combination of both the MAF and TPS are contributing to your problem. If the car will idle when cold and only wants to stall once warm and under way, it's more likely than not to be the TPS.

1987 GTA trans am TPI. it runs rough and rich. i let it run by itself and now it won't start unless i flutter the fuel pedel and then it still runs really rough and won't rev up. what can i look for?

I would suspect either the tps or mas air flow sensor, you can unplug the mass air flow sensor ( located in air tube to throttle body) see if this helps. The mass airflow sensor may need to be replaced. please rate if this helps

Hi I have Sonata 2005 GL Model. Car stalls when I try to accelerate in the stop sign. Some times it stops even running at high speed in highway or at uphill position. Car is still under warranty, Dealer...

Take it back to the dealership and tell them it's not fixed.. that the problem keeps coming back intermittently. Too many possible causes to discuss here. I've frequently seen drivability problems and no error (OBDII) diagnostic codes being stored/set. Ask the Svc Mgr to have a technician check the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and the MAF (Mass AirFlow Sensor). The TPS frequently causes problems with drivability, and doesn't always set a code.
