Question about 1988 Ford Ranger

I have an 1988 Ford Ranger with the 2.3L 4cyl 5 speed manual, (Bad Motor) and a 1990 Ford Ranger with the 4.0L V6 Auto trans (Bad Trans) will the good motor bolt to the good trans?

Check to see if the trans codes match from the VIN or the Ford manufactures plate on the drivers side door jam on both trucks.

pull the boot off and there is either a bolt or a pin in top of the trans if not there might be a bolt on cover on the trans take the bolts out and it should pop right out

1996 ford ranger, automatic trans, Torque converter will not unlock at times (50%) trans has very harsh upshifts as well. 3.0 L engine with f speed overdrive


im not sure about the fan Try spraying the heck out of the entire assembly on the drivers side of the tranny with PB Blaster and as for hard shifts is it manual or auto? if auto change filter

No spark, 1988 Toyota Camry 3SFE 4cyl, 5 speed.


there is no crank sensor on this vehicles 2.0L. If you have power to the coil, new coil, cap and rotor try this if not done yet>>>Unplug coil power first....Try pulling off the distributor cap, and make sure the rotor is spinning with the cam...If this fails to spin, inspect the entire distributor assembly. If it passes, Inspect all the power circuit and wiring to the dist assembly, if ok possible ecu. i recommend having a mechanic check it out!! Hopefully this helps...please rate...thanks

Clutch slave hydraulic retainer clip not avail.


Call you local auto recycler and see if they have what your looking for. It may take a few tries at a few places, but you'll find it.

Transmission fluid stick


No the manual transmisson does not have a stick. on the transmisson their are two plugs. One for draining and one for filling. In order to check the fluid, pull the higher plug out and feel with a finger in that hole for fluid. To set the level to the correct level you would need to drain and refill the trans. If no leaks are present you should be OK

that trnas will not bolt up and since you don't have a computor control the trans wount interface with the harness it requires which you do not have on your vehicle. please rate this solution
