Ignition switch has a anti-theft type lockout in the electronic switch inside steering column - have also had mine do this due to bad connection at the battery - remove both battery bolts and clean terminal and make sure you have a good connection - have also had my starter go out and does same thing - all lights and electronics but no start - had all 3 of these on my bravada in one week!!

How to turn off auto head lights on 2000 olds bravada

There will be a nob or button for that in driver side .. most probably on the left hand side ( door hinge). There will be symbols for auto and manual head light operation.

My 1998 Olds Bravada has the key stuck in the ignition. I paid to have a new ignition key cylinder put in, but the new one does the same thing. The key will start the car etc. but won't come out of...

I know in the newer versions of the Bravada, Trailblazers, Envoys, the ignition switch itself is always the culprit. Not the switch the key goes in, but it's located under the steering wheel column. I know how to replace the newer ones but not yours. That's the first place I'd look.

PROBLEM COULD BE THE AUTOMATIC LAMP CONTROL RELAY OR FAULT IN THE BODY CONTROL MODULE.

Key stuck in igntion.

Put the battery on charge or jump it. Basically it's locked in because of the lack of juice.

On a 2000 olds Bravada the key wont turn off all the way

you need to replace the whole ignition switch assembly, the swtch may be secured with what you call shear bolts which may have to be drilled out, only you can decide if you are capable of doin this, new bolts should be supplied with the new swith, when you retighten the bolts, the heads will shear off when they are tight enough, the aim of these are to prevent theives making a quick ignition change to steal your car

2000 Olds Bravada ignition

Okay .. had the EXACT same problem - word for word .. turns out, that my positive battery cable was corrodid badly.. the ignition switch wasnt getting any power or signal - so it didnt know the trans was in park, so it locked the key in place... and all power cut off obviously because no juice was going thru the cable.
Apparently however.. you will get almost the exact same symptoms if the ignition switch burns out... so first test the battery cables themselves.. if they are fine .. then plan on replacing the ignition switch.

I would suspect the ignition switch in the column is the issue. NOT where you place the key but the electronic part behind the key. Hope this helps
