Sounds like a bad head gasket, Your going to have to get that fix as soon as possible. The coolant that is mixing in with your oil is corrosive to the internal engine bearing as if left in there to long will cause you to have a new engine installed and not just the head gasket replaced.
Thank you for using fixya and be safe.

Why is the engine light and VSC light on in my 2003 Highlander with 136,000 miles.

There is some of a sensor attached to the oil filter assembly, sometimes after regular oil change mechanic forgets to check this connection. So no harm to the engine, but the light stays on. Just ask them to re-connect.
Happened to my Highlander like 5 times :)

When i start my 84 toyota truck 22r i notice white smoke coming out of the exhaust...

If your not overheating or losing coolant, its more than likely engine oil burning. If it is coolant related, possible blown head gasket.

No oil in engine

8000 over is not good. You lose some oil to what is called "blow by". This is when oil pushed by the rings around the pistons. This is a slow process but over time you could lose a bit and not notice any smoke. Also over time oil breaks down when not changed often causing a lot of it to stick to enternal parts of the engine which could be why you didnt get a light. Just some thoughts, sorry about your troubles

My 2001 Toyota Highlander is burning oil but does not show the symptoms of oil burning. After 500 to 1000 miles, the dipstick does not show any oil. What would cause this and what solutions are there?...

If you see no signs of burning oil ie blue smoke from exhaust, ticking from the engine, then most likely you have a valve cover gasket leak. The reason you wouldn't see the oil in the driveway is the oil is burning off on the exhaust manifold. Check around the valve cover gasket for seepage (usually around the bolts).

Hello , We have a 2002 highlander and it smokes periodically when it's started and uses oil . Then it will stop smoking and using oil for a couple of weeks and then start again for a week or two .It seems...

It sounds like classic valve seal failure to me. When parked and cooled off the bad seal (s) allow oil to leak past the seal and into the combustion chamber (s). After the engine is run it burnes off the oil until it parked again. This also happens to many engines that have been in storage allowing the seals to dry out.
