Question about 1995 Kia Sephia

My 1995 Kia Sephia accelerates and shuts down

My 1995 Kia Sephia starts accelerating as soon as it warms up and then it shuts down. The radio and lights work, so I know it's not the battery. Replaced the fuel pump, did a tune up and still does the same thing.

A little more detail... The check engine light was on about a month ago but it went away as soon as my boyfriend did the tune up and hasn't returned but the problem remained.

Check to make sure that your mass air flow sensor is working properly and your clean air supply to the throdle body is all connected and functioning. allong with the sensors connected to that. it sounds like your cars mas air flow sensor is giving an incorrect high reading to your ecu...so your car thinks it is taking in more air than it is... the fuel injectors are trying to compensate for the high air flow but because that air flow does not exist the car stalls.

Kia hissing noise when accelerating

If it seems to have a loss of power you may have a clogged exhaust, (muffler) system, again if you have a loss of power or it runs ruff check for a vacuum leak.

Driving my 2001 kia sephiaall sudden hardly was going 30mph..then when got to hwy..same thing and no matter what gear(5spd)would not accelerate.ck engine lite had been on for awhile and our mechanic said...

HAVENT SEEN VERY MANY PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL PUMPS ON THESE PARTICULAR VEHICLE . YOU CAN TAKE THE 02 SENSOR OUT AND CHECK BACKPRESSURE WITH A GAUGE OR YOU CAN TAKE THE CONVERTER DOWN JUST 4 NUTS AND SEE IF YOUR ACCELERATION IMPROVES . BUT YES A CAT CONVERTER CAN CAUSE A VEHICLE TO BE SLOW TO ACCELERATE AND KEEP IT FROM GOING TO HIGH SPEEDS DUE TO THE BACKPRESSURE ON THE ENGINE . IF YOU TAKE IT TO A MUFFLER SHOP IT SHOULD RUN ABOUT 200.00 TO REPLACE WITH AN AFTERMARKET . IF YOU HAVE A PO420 IN THE COMPUTER FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT IS THE LIKELY CAUSE THIS VEHICLE HAS 2 CATS A WARM UP CAT AND A MAIN CAT IT COULD BE EITHER OR BOTH .

My 2000 kia sephia started to have a squeal come from under the hood and it gets louder as i try to accelerate & now the car also overheats but my radiator is new. To top it off my o/d lights started...

okay the squeal is a belt under the hood one of them may be to tight or worn out. also you can try spraying belt cleaner and lubricant. you can pick it up at any autoparts store. DO NOT USE WD40!!!!!!!
and if your car is overheating with a new radiator then you may just need to replace your thermastat.

try a fuel system clean you can get them at any auto parts store then if that dosnt work you may need to replace your fuel pump or fuel injectors.
