Tip

Vehicles with tire air pressure sensors

When you are checking the air pressure on your tires, especially on vehicle equipped with tire pressure sensors, remember to check the spare tire. I have seen many vehicles where the owner has the tire pressure light come on and think it is defective because the spare tire has low pressure.

The pressure sensor is inside the tire attached to the fill valve. Any good tire store can either replace it or re-synchronize it to the car.

I have a 2009 dodge caliber and my security light keeps blinking on and off with the tire pressure light any ideas on why ???

check the tire pressure on each tire, if one is lower it will cause issues..they use nitrogen now to inflate tires at the dealer because nitrogen doesnt react to outside air pressures like service station air does..(tire will look low even tho pressure is good)..check the lowest pressure tire for wounds to sidewall or roadtread by spraying liqiud soad (like windex) on it and look for bubbles anywhere..plug or replace the tire if a leak is found..good luck

Yellow horseshoe shape with explanation flashing on my dash of Nissan Titan

That signal is from your tire monitoring sensors, telling you that there is air pressure difference between tires. The tire pressure should be same in all tires.

What does the yellow tire light mean on the instrument panel?

it means your tire pressure is below recomended pressure parramiters.
This system also moiters the spare!! so check it too!

Unless you had someone change the tires on the vehicle... and they broke off the tire pressure monitor... ( cost about $90 each!)

Why does it show the message: LOW TIRE PRESSURE

there is a tire pressure sensor on each tire check the air pressure on each tire and recalibrate the system each time you put air in any of the 4 tires or if any of the tire gets low air.Its like teaching the system on the present tire air pressure. One thing more the valve on each tire are special valve that have electronic part inside so make sure you dont replace them with an ordinary tire valve.Recalibrating shld be done on workshops with the proper tool
