I MEANT TO TELL YOU IF YOU HAVE HYDRO BOOST BRAKES.IF YOU HAVE DIESEL ENGINE. THEY ARE CONTROLLED BY THE POWERSTEERING PUMP.YOU HAVE TO BLEED POWERSTEERING PUMP FIRST BEFORE BRAKES WILL WORK RIGHT.

At slow rpm its hard to turn either way is it related to brake line replacement?

no,this would have to do with belt,or power steering pump low on fluid, or pump itself. Brake line has nothing to do with steering .

Brake paddle goes to the floor before it has brakes

Im guessing you have air in the lines, possibly from a leak in a caliper.. You need to inspect the brake lines and calipers to determine a leak. Most brake shops will do this for free...

Power steering and brakes stopped working in my 2003 GMC sierra 2500 HD..replaced water pump and belt..still not working..

You probably have hydroboost brakes and that system is powered by the power steering unit. If you have no steering and brakes, the first thing to check is the power steering pump. Check for low/no fluid. If the fluid is okay then the pump might not be pumping and you will need to replace it.

Make sure the fluid is full, the power steering also operates the brakes if it has hydro boost brake system, make sure there are no leaks and that its full,it all checks out then you may have a weak power steering pump,

Daan,it sounds like you have hydraulic assisted brakes you should be able to trace the lines from the PS pump or steering gear box to the master cylinder,if the power steering is low on fluid refill it and have someone turn the steering wheel to one side or the other while you watch for leaks in the lines.if this helps you to locate the leak, just go to your local parts store and pick up a replacement.

TEST the vacuum pump. Both systems are run by it. Pressure should be at least 10psi right out of pump at 1000 rpm.
P.S. If pressure varies more than about 4 psi as the rpm vary the pump is failling.
