Assembly of converter to trans and then tunit to engine? The torque converter must engage and slide into the front pump. The seal is easily damamaged if not properly fitted.Once the trans is against the engine the converter can be slid forward to bolt the flex plste. There should not be more than approx. 1/4 inch between the converter and trans bell housing if the converter is properly mated to the trans. Good Luck, Ned.

What would cause my 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 liter transmission to blow out the front seal & fluid? Truck stopped movement shortly afterwards.

97 was a bad year for Chrysler transmissions. Most of these transmissions have already been replaced or rebuilt. My best answer is your are the victim of poor engineering among the many other owners that where in the same situation with these vehicles.

I have a 97 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 V8 gasoline engine. Recently had the front and rear seals replaced. I noticed shortly thereafter that the transmission would want to wind out then slam into 3rd and OD....

The linkage needs to be adjusted. It should be the one from throttle to transmission. They have to be set properly or vehicle will not shift correctly.

JUST HAD RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING REPLACED ON MY 1998 DODGE RAM 1500 4X4 DROVE 50 MILES NOW THE AXLE SEAL IS LEAKING WHY

Can't remember if your axle is set up like the ones on a Jeep (too many cars stuck in my head) but if it is, the seal is on the inboard end of the axle and easy to forget it's there. If you don't lift the axle so it goes through the center of the seal when you put it back in, it will push the seal out and cause a leak.
If that's the case, whoever did the work needs to make it right. (carrier needs to be removed as well as the axle, to replace the seal)

Local auto recyclers have access to that info now. Their info is probably your best bet, as they need to know that all the time.
