Mark your leads before pulling them off the plugs, replace the plugs, clean air filter, buy a bottle of injector cleaner and put that in your tank, check your belt condition and adjust slack, check all under hood fluids, check all vaccuum hoses for leaks and cracks, check fuel line is not persished, while you have the mechanical hat on, check your front and rear brake pads and rotors, safe driving and have fun. Cheers.

Just did tune-up on 2000 altima changed plugs wires distributor cap and rotor air filter changed oil and filter car started like a top drove 10 miles shut car off now won't start.

Really need more info here. Does the engine turn over? If so check all your connections again. Also check plug and coil wires and distributor cap. If engine won't turn over it's probably the battery.

I was told that in order to change the spark plugs on my Nissan Maxima, the shop would have to remove the intake manifold to an extra cost of 200.00. Is it necessary to remove the intake manifold to change...

This is possibly true, especially if you have a 6 cylinder. They don't actually remove the whole intake from the motor, there is a section of the intake system that can be removed fairly easily and then the plugs can be accessed. Unfortunately, this design was more to push the price of a tune up higher than a needed design change, at least in my opinion. Since you have to remove that part most people are more inclined to take a vehicle to the dealer to replace spark plugs instead of doing it themselves and as you know, the dealership prices are higher than anywhere else and the mechanics have the same qualifications other mechanics have.Typically no seals need to be replaced when this is done but it does take more time and that is where the dealership makes it's money.

A few months back my daughter took her 2000 nissan maxima in and had it scan with a obd11 and she was told it was a o2 sensor, she did nothing ,so i took it in today and it reads po300 code.[misfire...

It shoudn't be. Your oxygen sensors detect the oxygen in the engine. A misfire can be a few things, such as spark plugs/coils, wires, distributor cap and rotor, cam sensor, crank sensor, ecm. I would start with a tune up. If it has been more then 75,000 miles since you changed the plugs and wires, it could be that. Has it been acting up, such as hesitations, stalling when you slow down or stop?

1998 maxima gle Tune-up needed what parts do i need

Every 30,000 miles you need an air filter, every 60,000 a fuel filter, every 100,000 spark plugs. That's it.
