Question about 2002 Dodge Intrepid

1 Answer

The A/C is just not cold enough. Its mildly cool. When the heat comes I won't be able to notice whether its on or not. What can I do?I haven't tried any repairs as yet. Is it something I can do myself. Like adding coolant.

If you do not know what you are doing you can really hurt your AC system and that can lead to costly repairs, a lot of places will start to advertise for AC tune ups around most large and medium sized cities. I would recommend spending the 55 dollars and letting someone who know what they are doing take care of this issue

The car heater does not get real hot will a new therasta fix the problem.

Depends on whether the car itself is running cool. If the car is running in the 80-90 degree Celsius mark then a thermostat won't help you. If it is running cool then it's likely the thermostat is faulty and partial open all the time.
Make sure your interior heater doesn't have an air lock or blockage. Make sure your system fully closes off the cold air when maximum heat is selected

On my 2009 1500 silverado, the driver side air cond blows HOT air as if the heat is on, but if you cycle the driver side temp control up then back down several times or turn the truck off like short trips...

There is a damper that controls whether heat or cooling or somewhere between that is controlled by the temperature controls. A separate system is controlling the passenger side and the driver side heating and cooling. I hope this is still under warrantee. If not it might be a big job to diagnose whether the problem is in the heat and cool controller, the wiring or the damper device. I hope this helps.

1994 Ford Taurus GL - Blows ambient temperature air when set on coolest setting, heat works normally. Refrigerant is full and no leaks in the line. Any ideas? Before I parked the vehicle last year, I...

If the refrigerant is ok the compressor should be coming on. If it isn't, check the AC fuse. Since it was not up to par when last used, it sounds like the refrigerant is low in charge though. If it is low enough, the compressor won't start.

Rad. has small hole in it. nearly over heated this morn, could only get one gallon of anti-freeze, it was two more gallons low. would this cause the heater not to heat??

Yes! When a car runs low on antifreeze, problems occur. When antifreeze levels get low enough, a car begins exhibiting enough signs that prompt its owner to have it checked.

Low antifreeze in a car engine typically causes its heat to quit functioning. This symptom is normally only noticed during the cold months, when a driver relies on the heat to be comfortable in her vehicle.
