My guess is that you have a cvc joint that's gone bad.. (A cvc joint is a joint in the kind of drive shaft (axle) that comes out of the trans-axle to the wheel.) I'm thinking you need a shop for this problem. It's not an easy repair for a novice. You'll probably need to have the joints on both axles repaired.

92 plymouth sundance. loud pop on drivers side when turning. steering wheel won't turn when brake is pressed.

thats your axle its bad or you call it cvc joint needs to be replace it cost about $150

Hyundia matrix 1.6 is it hard to change a drivers side ball joint ?

It is very difficult and requires special tools and skills, you will also need to have the front end aligned after the part change.

How do you tell if a cvc joint is broken without pulling everything apart

If the CVC joint is broken, the car would not move. I assume that you are hearing unusual noises in the drivetrain. It is worthwhile to have a certified mechanic take a look at the car to determine if the CVC needs to be replaced, before serious problems develop.

Where is the "Fill" plug for 1992 Geo Storm 5 speed transmission?

Should be behind the driver side wheel on the side of the transmission a few inches above where your CVC joint snaps in the transmission.

Worn shocks can give this problem. You might also check the ball joint and rubber mountings.

Cvc joint, can u move it forward or will it mess up somthing?

Hello, I as a professional would say the safest thing would be to have it towed. If the joint has not been distroyed to the point of falling apart then you could possible push it by hand if the inboard joint is bad and not the outboard joint next to the wheel. With the outboard broken there is a very strong posibility the if you tried to make a turn even by pushing the joint will just lock up completely and you will not be able to push the vehicle past that point. You also take a chance of causing additional damage to the vehicle if the assembly comes apart completely. The outboard CVC joint is more dangerous than the inboard since the outboard is in a percision location to allow turning. Good Luck, RAC
