87 f150 driving just quit running now wont start

Do you have spark?? If not replace the Ignition control module (Called the TFI) and remove the distributor and replace the pickup coil inside. Use Motorcraft replacement parts, the aftermarket cheap ones fail really quick, 25 years of experience taught me that.

Replace ignition 87 4runner

It is probably better to replace the switch.
If it is anything like my 87 4Runner, the switch is pretty worn out anyway. I just replaced the switch wiring harness in mine.
Get a new switch and a Haynes manual at an auto parts store.
The manual describes how to replace the switch.
WAY too much to list here, but pretty simple really.
Good luck :)

89 vette

The ignition module inside the distributor may be the problem. Get a new one and try it out. The modules from GM are more dependable than aftermarket ones. If that is not the problem, it's nice to have a spare module in case of an emergency failure.
