1991 firebird when you turn key engine will not roll over

Checked starter wires they are ok. we have current to everything in the car. checked all the fusible links they are ok. checked the clutch switch it works ok. checked the anti-theft relay is ok. thought that was the problem, when you unplugged the relay i jumped the the two outside spades the car would roll over when you turned the key, but had no juice to the ecm or the fuel pump. so i am lost dont know what to do. if there is anything else i can check or test let me know how to do it.

92 firebird wont crank, tried everything nothing

It could still be the security system. The resistors only bypass the key and ignition. If your Theft Deterrent Module is bad, the security light may not turn on, and the car will not start. You can bypass this.

1991 thunderbird sc starting problems

Use a 12volt test light and connect to the starter energiser wire, get someone to turn the key and see if the test light comes on, if no then the starter relay has packed in. A further test you can do, but YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL, set car in park DON't switch the ignition on, and direct feed the starter to see if it cranks the engine, if yes you are back to the starter relay.

My car won't turn over, everything works, but doesn't make a noise when I try to start it

Go under the car and see if you have 12 volts at the purple wire to the starter solenoid when the key is held to crank position, the wire may be broken or the starter solenoid is defective.

You either have a bad starter or ignigtion switch. When you turn the key on does everything else come on? I would check the starter first if you have power to everything.

Starter on a 1991 firebird 350. how many wires go to the starter

Should be one big hot wire and one smaller solenoid wire that is hot in "start". There may also be a ground wire for the solenoid and a ground strap for the starter.

You likely put the starter engagement wire on the wrong post[purple wire to the small post of the solenoid switch on the starer motor].The ecu will not get current until it sees engine rpm so you need to get it to crank first then recheck for power.

All of the power goes through the starter. First check to see if you have a bad power wire .If the starter is shorted you loose the power. I think replacing the starter will correct your problem.
