If the blower works but its just not blowing cold air, its possible to recharge the AC system yourself. Most auto parts stores carry AC recharge kits. Instructions to recharge the AC are belowl
RECHARGING AC SYSTEM
1.Turn the truck on and turn AC on HIGH 2.Locate the low side AC line (will have a valve and cap similar to the cap on a tire) 3.Insert the oil or R-134A can to the hose (Do not turn the screw to puncture the can yet) 4.Insert the other end of the refill hose to the low side valve 5.Puncture the R-134A can with the screw on the refill hose 6.You should feel the system suction the refrigerant out of the can 7.Check for frost on the AC lines and the air blowing inside the truck 8.If frost develops and the air is cold, you've successfully recharged the system and disconnect the refill hose. DO NOT ADD MORE REFRIGERANT...overcharging the system will damage your compressor and will be less effective

recharge your system, it;s low on refrigerat, there is not enough liquid going into the evap to help maintain cooling, hence the speed of the compressor. install gauges to check pressures at idle, if not to spec , recharge. if it's low you have a leak to repair. also make sure your AC condenser is clear. Absolutely not! Never attempt to recharge from the high side. Recharging from the high side is extremely dangerous and could do harm to both you and the car. If the low side pressure is only 10psi, you are low on refrigerant. Most cars require 20psi to operate the compressor and should never fill to more than 40-45psi unless recommended by the manufacturer. I'd re-check the pressure readings. It's possible that instead of charging the system, while hooking up the hose, you've let freon escape, accounting for the hissing noise and the low pressure reading. When recharging the AC system, it's important to have the car running and have the AC on high. It's possible, you didn't have a good connection to the low side which also would account for the escaping refrigerant. I hope this answers your question. I'd try to recharge the system again on the low side, making sure the connection is good both at the low side valve and on the can of refrigerant. Best of luck. Greg
The low pressure valve is down by the AC Compressor. It is part of the aluminum manifold that connects directly to the AC compressor. It is accessible from above, but easier to reach from under the car.
By the way, is there any particular reason why you want to recharge your AC system? If it isn't working, adding refrigerant will not necessarily fix the problem. If the refrigerant has all leaked out, you probably need to evacuate the system first.
check the compressor belt if its worn or slipping replace adjust belt tension.have garage discharge system your low side should be 28 to 30 high side should be 200 psi.system might need a new accumulator. have it pump down and recharged.
There are two A/C refrigerant lines. The small line is your high pressure line and the larger line is your low pressure line.
Start at the fire wall and follow the "large " low pressure line to the compressor. The low pressure charge port will be some where on that line.
DO NOT try to recharge on the high pressure side ( small line )

If your going to attempt this yourself then you need a few things.
Go to your local car parts shop. You will need a Toyota Corrola Manual in order to find the connector on the low pressure side of your AC compressor.
You will need to find this connector first to determine if the connector is a screw fit or a quick release push fit. You also need to work out what refrigerant to add to your car - R22 or R134a. R134a is more environmentally safe ( the numbers are from memory so may be slightly different but buy the manual and check that first for the type of refrigerant used in your model).
You also need to look for a Recharge can with Stop leak and Leak detector in it - they will have it at the auto shop should be under $20 (you may wish to buy two cans just in case as often one isn't enough) - and once you know the type of fitting you need to use you need to by the recharge connector that will fit on the low pressure side and attach to the top of the recharge can.
Typically the leak detector can be a red dye that can be seen by the eye or a yellow dye that glows under untraviolet light - so if you don't have an ultra violet light source its going to be difficult to see the leak with the yellow stuff . The other problem you may have is if the leak is really bad the system may need to be fixed (stop the leak) and the evacualted for the AC unit to really become effective.
Anyway the practice is to find the recharge connection on the low pressure line. Take the cap off. Connect the recharge hose you bought to the recharge can. This end of the hose has a tap and spike arrangement that is going to puncture the top of the can but you make sure the tap is fully wound out (away from the can) when you fit it initially. Later in the process you are going to wind the pin in to puncture the can once its all set up. So with the can connnected to that end of the hose you have to fit the other end of the hose to the low pressure side of the AC line on the Corrola. Do that as quickly as possible - if its a push fit with locking ring the action of you pushing the connector on does two things opens the AC system and seals the tube connector onto the Low pressure side. Its inportant to do this as fast as possible to prevent any refidgerant that may be in the system from leaking out and to prevent contaminants getting into the system.
Start the car. Put the AC on full Go back to the engine and wind the spike into the can fully to puncture the can it and then wind the spike back out again to allow the refrigerant to enter the AC system.
The can should get pretty cold even to the point of icing a little. Go back in the car and with the AC system on full and the blower turned on to say the 2nd fan position check for cooler air starting to come through the vents in the car.
You should be able to go back round to the engine after say 5 mins and check that the recharge can is now empty. Screw the spike back into the can - turn the AC and the engine off and disconnect the low pressure side connector on the hose. If its a push fit it has a brash ring you have to pull up to release the tube and then pull the tube off the system.
You can repeat the process with the 2nd can if needed now. Screw the protective cap back on once you have completed all recharging.
Now two things to check - where are any signs of red dye coming out of the AC system and 2nd does the AC actually work.
If the AC still doesn't work it may just be that you have such a drastic leak that the system needs to be fixed - e.i. a condenser unit replaced or something and now you are into $100s to fix it.
