I would check the air filter, and replace the fuel filter, if it hasn't been done for awhile. It may be the fuel pump itself. I would do a fuel pressure test. Also, you may be in need of a tune up, plugs and spark plug wires.

I don't think it would be the timing, since the timing is controlled by the computer. You may have a bad MAF sensor, but they are rather pricey, and usually they will set a code. You may want to check the fuel pressure.

change the fuel you are using. try some fuel system cleaner. this is a petty issue, every vehicle develops issues over time.a bmw owner complains about hestitations, a bmw driver enjoys the ride. DEAL WITH IT!!!

2004 dodge caravan 2.4 Hesitates during Acceleration and at idele

You should definitely replace the fuel filter though this probably won't fix your hesitation. It wouldn't hurt to replace the spark plugs this is usually the culprit on these engine. I have the same engine in a '99 caravan and found the for some reason the spark plugs on cylinder 3 and 4 loosen up after one year and cause a misfire between 45 and 50 mph under load (when mildly accelerating).

It feels like gas isn't getting to the engine. sometimes (usually at a complete stop or starting to accelerate) the car hesitates to go and jerks forward. Other times the car is driving along and the check...

Have the fuel pressure checked- this would determine if your fuel pump is working properly. Its really easy if you have a gauge. you might be able to rent one at a part store. or it could need a new fuel filter
